This position is for a Windows 10 engineer at USAID. The engineer will perform gap analysis of USAID hardware, COTS software, network and applications to assess Windows 10 compatibility.

Task Description:
This position is for a Technical Engineer with enterprise scale Windows 10 migration experience. The task involves analyzing hardware and software for Windows 10 compatibility; and network for Windows 10 migration sufficiency. The task includes analysis of the environment (network, hardware and applications) to assess gaps in USAID readiness.

Work will be performed out of the client's facilities in Arlington, VA and Washington DC.


Required skills/Level of Experience:
Position requires 5+ years of experience with the following:
Experience with Windows migrations in large enterprise, including user data preservation Experience with Microsoft Active Directory design/architecture, replication in multi-domains, GPO implementation, STIG settings (file/print servers, DNS, Domain Controllers and Application servers), and Azure AD. Experience building, configuring and managing Windows systems and STIG deployment for Windows Server 2003, Windows Server 2008 and Window Server 2012 in multi-tenant enterprise environments
Position requires 2-3 years of experience with the following:
Experience with Windows 10 configuration and deployment in a large enterprise Experience analyzing end user hardware for Windows 10 compatibility, including assessment of processor, memory, disk, TPM chip and BIOS/ Extensible Firmware Interface (UEFI) Experience utilizing VB/Powershell to automate common functions Experience/awareness of SCCM methodologies Experience with network bandwidth assessment and mitigation, including use of Distribution Points (DP) Experience with Office 365 on Azure Cloud Experience with McAfee and BitLocker encrypion Experience with Edge, IE11, and Chrome web browsers Familiarity with the Microsoft Assessment and Planning (MAP) Toolkit

Nice to have skills:
The candidate must be able to gather data about IT devices and applications in the enterprise and assess them for Windows 10 compatibility. They must identify IT devices (laptops and desktops) that are too old for upgrade (and must be replaced) and identify devices that are good candidates for In-Place Upgrades. They will be expected to provide direction to lab testing team about what items need further evaluation, testing and confirmation for compatibility. The candidate should be able to make recommendations for mitigations and work arounds when compatibility issues are encountered, within the boards of meeting the requirements of the USAID security posture and operational requirements.

Off-shift coverage may be required for evaluation, test and pilot deployment activities. The ability to write shell scripts and utility programs for Windows system maintenance is also a plus. Experience with Riverbed SteelFusion is desired.

Candidate must have experience in development of implementation guides based on NIST 800-53 moderate and high impact baselines and also must have Federal customer experience and be able to obtain federal Secret level security clearance, if needed. To be successful in this position, the candidate must also display excellent teamwork skills, written and oral communication skills, and formal documentation skills.
