Title: SR Enterprise Architect.



Objective: The Information Technology - Enterprise Information Architect is responsible for Enterprise Information Architecture (EIA) and is part of the Enterprise Architecture (EA) process. Enterprise Information Architecture describes, through requirements, principles and models, the current state, future state and guidance necessary to flexibly share and exchange enterprise information to achieve effective change. EIA is also part of the Solution Architecture process, along with Technology and Business Architecture.

The Enterprise Information Architect will drive the development of the enterprise architecture process and the technology standards management process and should keep abreast of the latest technologies and technological opportunities in his/her knowledge area. The Enterprise Information Architect must understand business needs and apply smart technology strategy for competitive advantage.

Duties/Responsibilities:


Planning and Strategic Thinking: Influence the technology strategy through in-depth understanding of customer needs and technical understanding to align business outcomes to technology strategy and roadmaps.
Synthesize new, emerging technologies and proactively identify those that will advance key business strategies.
Create and maintain enterprise architecture standards and frameworks which support the Technology strategy within one or more specific disciplines of Enterprise Architecture.
Architectural Governance: Coordinate, review and approve projects and work efforts to ensure that they are compliant with architectural standards, policies, and guidelines.
Iterative refinement and direction of governance activities ensuring compliance with the enterprise architecture.
Trend Analysis / Technology Investment: Anticipate business needs and trends and the direction technology must take in order to properly support the business.
Consider costs and benefits associated with technology direction and the implications of maintaining the status quo; perform trade-off analyses.
Communications and Relationship Building: Engage in significant interaction at senior management levels; able to effectively communicate highly technical information to numerous audiences (e.g., senior management, client community, peers and junior associates); effectively develop relationships with individuals inside and outside of IT.
Deliver difficult messages and express disagreement with others with confidence and self-control.
Ensure the overall quality, accessibility and agility of the EIA across multiple data types (structured, semi-structured and unstructured), balancing the need for access against security and performance requirements
Define enterprise information requirements, such as design, access, use and stewardship
Champion efforts to improve business performance through EIA solutions and capabilities, such as master data management, metadata management, business intelligence, content management, data integration, and related information management or information infrastructure components
Facilitate the development of a corporate data policy or information management strategy, which outlines the appropriate data ownership, stewardship, audit requirements and service-level agreements that must be established and maintained to guide the appropriate use of information in business and IT processes. This includes recommending the proper incentives to keep the EIA stable, yet dynamic, as business needs dictate.
Lead the enterprise information management (EIM) program - a key participant in the implementation of the EIA. This individual must understand the emerging regulatory issues regarding information assets, such as consumer privacy laws, data retention policies, outsourced data and specific industry guidelines.
Lead the creation of process, information or data models; the design of interfaces; and the development of internal and external checks and controls to ensure proper governance, security and quality of information assets.
Lead ongoing efforts to redesign or modify the EIA as part of, or in coordination with, business information improvement initiatives.

Mandatory Qualifications:


Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Engineering, or related discipline
7 or more years of experience in IT and or equivalent work experience.
7 or more years of experience is required in development, implementation and maintenance of large-scale systems across multiple hardware and software platforms; 5 or more years of experience is required in utility business knowledge.
Significant experience and knowledge in architecting / designing and implementation of new technology with strong verbal, written, and presentation communication skills are required.



Preferred Qualifications:


A graduate degree in IT related discipline is preferred. MBA would be a bonus.
