One of the largest federal credit unions in the country, we are a cooperative association organized to promote thrift and provide credit at reasonable rates of interest. Northwest Federal Credit Union differs from banks, loan companies, and savings and loan associations because as a federal credit union we operate with an exclusive "field of membership" whose basis must be a common bond. Savings are accepted from members only; loans are made to members only. The members' savings are shares in the credit union. We are a non-profit organization, whose income is returned to the members as a dividend or as a partial refund of interest paid on loans. Our membership consists of personnel assigned or detailed to the Central Intelligence Agency and other personnel who work for or with the Central Intelligence Agency on a common intelligence mission or project; employees of this credit union; persons retired as pensioners or annuitants from the CIA; Select Employer Groups (SEG's) and members of their families.
Northwest Federal Credit Union is committed to its employees and believes in the importance of the individual; we believe that employees and management are bound together by a common interest - the ability of the credit union to operate successfully and ensure both member and employee satisfaction; we believe that the sharing of ideas, information and feelings is essential as a means of expression and a path to better understanding and sound decision-making and we believe employees who are closest to the workplace problems develop the best solutions. We encourage employees to offer solutions to issues and problems and to take responsibility for seeing them through to completion.
