Role Description:
We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our growing, diverse and sociable team of talented people who enjoy regular team building days and dedicated time for innovation. This person will want to make a real difference to our customers and be passionate about creating, innovating and being part of a constantly evolving team.
You'll learn from us and we'll learn from you. You'll have the freedom and autonomy to do your best work, and plenty of support along the way. You'll be joining large community of engineers, product and design colleagues who we can call on for support at any time.
The team you will be joining into are tasked with building out the next generation of our Content Management Systems estate with opportunity to join the project during Discovery. The algorithms and processing you will be working with require solutions to problems that aren't well solved within the IT Industry. Some of the things you can bring:Experience of high level OO programming with C# (.Net)Experience using of JavaScript Framework(s), specifically React, HTML, CSS, TypescriptExperience of implementation of Microservices (RESTful APIs).Knowledge of Software Development lifecycles and associated processes, preferably with experience working within Agile teams following rapid iterative cycles while maintaining Engineering standards.Building software with AWS, Azure, or similar cloud platform. Kubernetes is a bonus however we have internal training programmes if not.Routine use of TDD, SOLID, and appropriate design patterns, as well as an ability to discuss the relationships between the concepts, and how they influence system design.Our culture is one of continuous learning, we believe learning is an ongoing process and we learn from each other at all levels within the organisation. Pair programming is the norm and we work on problems collectively in an inclusive environment.Consistent championing of good Coding Standards and driven to define & improve standards, personally and across the associated team.Passion for quality and testing (e.g. unit, functional, performance, load and memory testing)Usage of CI/CD tools and practices to include such tools as VSTS, GoCD, Jenkins, Cloud formation templates etcUnderstanding the importance of secure computing (OWASP top 10 etc) and defensive coding techniques.Experience with Content Management Systems, text processing, or AI is a bonus.Who we are:
