Salary: £41,000 rising to £45,500 after training

JOB PURPOSEThe jobholder is responsible for ensuring that safety, environmental and quality standards are met whilst implementing the clearly defined production plans.The jobholder will perform the role of incident controller as required.To carry out the operation and maintenance of standard or complex chemical manufacturing equipment / services to ensure that defined parameters and targets are consistently achieved.The job is essentially an operational / maintenance role on a shift working hours basis.The jobholder will work within a defined competence level in a local multi-disciplined flexible team environment and would also provide an additional support service to meet business requirements.The jobholder will have to be self-motivated and use interpersonal skills to communicate PRINCPRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES Act as incident controller when required.Report all incidents to Polymer plant Manager / Operations Leader.Responsible for ensuring that safety, environmental and quality standards are met whilst implementing the clearly defined production plans.Non high risk permits to work.On site point of contact (out of hours).Utilise process and engineering call-out systems.Lead shift manufacturing techs will be expected to use their full range of competencies, to meet business needs.Operate and maintain chemical manufacturing equipment including the carrying out of all necessary product analysis to maintain quality standards.Work to, and comply with all legislative and company regulations / procedures relating to Safety, Hazards, Environment, Health, and Quality.Maintain / Continuously improve and update dynamic manufacturing systems.Actively participate in testing and commissioning of new plant and equipment.Ensure that continuous improvement in Safety, Quality, Costs, Output, Effectiveness and Individual / Team performance is maintained.Develop / improve Manufacturing tasks and draft appropriate procedures to the required quality standards.Work with others to ensure the competence of self and the whole team.Responsible for the control of legionellaQualifications and Desired Skills

Desirable:2 years' experience of specific Capa plant.Alternatively, 5 years' experience in chemical plant process operation.Essential:Appropriate literacy, numerical reasoning and accuracy skills.Basic Computer skills.Forklift truck licencePlease note, this role is a shift role, with both day and night shifts.
