How you will impact Ingevity:

Our mission is to improve service to external and internal customers, and business profitability by better utilizing company's resources. This role will focus on designing, developing, and implementing new or revised production processes for the efficient/economical production of goods. This position has a global focus and will interact with several internal functions, including: Sales, Technical and Product Development, Supply Chain, Operations and Finance.Technical understanding of specialty chemical processes and unit operations designResearch background of taking innovative concepts from literature and expanding/modifying those concepts to meet commercial needs with a focus on maximizing valueLab experience working with catalytically mediated and biphasic reaction processesUnderstanding of interfacial phenomenon & enzyme technologiesAbility to advance an idea into lab work, plant scale up, and ultimately realize commercial opportunitiesExperience developing complex formulation chemistryFamiliarity with microbial engineeringTechnical understanding of fatty acid chemistry, surface chemistry, emulsions, multi-phase reactions, and separations.Create innovative solutions to maximize value for our customers and pine chemical businessTechnical support for capital improvement projects at all site locationsCreate technical memos and reports as needed to document findings and recommendations of projects and trialsSupport and lead teams across a diverse cross function of technical and business contributors including support efforts across all site locationsDrive growth and innovationIdentify, investigate and develop opportunities that align with long term growth objectives.Evaluate and develop new technologies and chemistries that align with business strategyDevelop new processes and technologies for alternative feed stocks and pretreatment technology/processes that align with existing resources or supplement existing resourcesDevelop growth and innovation projects through research, lab work, and collaboration to help facilitate expansion into new businesses and product linesDrive growth and innovation projects to commercialization and help support those projects at the plant level, with commercial groups, and engineeringThe ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and use problem solving tools.What you need to succeed:PhD degree in Chemical Engineering, Biological Engineering, Biochemistry or equivalent discipline2 years minimum experience in commercial environment and/or post doctorate experimental researchPreferable experience with experimental development including but not limited to biological engineering, enzyme technologies, interfacial phenomenon, and phase separation technologies.Preferable experience with biomass, sustainable chemistries, oleochemical, fatty acid/glycerol processing in a manufacturing and/or R&D environment.This position is eligible for relocation assistance.This role is not eligible for employment visa sponsorship.
