This is a hybrid/remote role. Applicants must be located within driving distance (or willing to relocate within driving distance) of Brentwood, Tennessee or Lexington Park, Maryland.

These critical roles serve The Simulation Division, NAWCAD 5.4.3; one of five divisions within IBST and is responsible for simulation expertise and products for naval aviation systems and the Battlespace environment within which they operate. The Simulation Division researches, designs , develops, implements, deploys, and maintains software applications, advanced real-time simulations, real-time interfaces, and tools to support Battlespace and distributed simulations. This position is in support of the Next Generation Threat System (NGTS) program for the Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) Test Department Simulation Division. The NGTS program is a synthetic environment generator used to support training, testing, analysis, and research and development. It is used to simulate the complexity of modern warfare to allow better training.

We are currently seeking Mid and Senior C++ Developers. These position can be fully REMOTE with the requirement to visit the customer space as needed.

Duties: Develop, create, and modify general computer applications, simulation models, scripts and utility programsAnalyze user needs and develop software solutionsTypical applications include real-time simulation executives, data communication and distribution, system control and operator software, graphical user interfaces, hardware interfacing, database design and interfacingSupport requires work experience in the use of C++.Senior level software developers support project management, provide software development team leadership, develop software top level designs and architectures, implement software and configuration standards, and interact heavily with customers in addition to software developmentTools used for software development include Microsoft Visual Studio, Git and the Atlassian Tool Suite including Confluence, JIRA & Bit Bucket.Required Education:Mid: BA/BS degree in Computer Science, or related majorSenior: MS/MA degree in Computer Science, or related majorThe ideal candidate will have strong education and experience with modern C++, principles of object-oriented design, and software architecture design.Required Experience:Mid: Minimum 5 years of C++ development experience with modern c++, principles of object-oriented design, software architecture design, and Qt.Senior: Minimum 10 years of C++ development experience with modern c++, principles of object-oriented design, software architecture design, and QtAdditional desired technical skills include experience with Qt, cross-platform development, multi-threaded and concurrent programming, OpenGL and GLSL concepts, and real-time simulation.Highly desired professional skills include excellent communication skills, strong analytical skills, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team. Must be self-motivated, detail-oriented and able to multi-task.Candidates must be able to secure a Department of Defense security clearance
