Responsibilities to Anticipate:

Candidate uses and applies software quality practices, principles, theories, concepts, and techniques associated with the evaluation of software, firmware and configurable logic development for embedded multi-processor systems, and test systems. Assists in developing solutions to complex technical software quality assurance problems using established quality practices.

Reviews software products and processes for compliance to contract requirements, software directives and reviews work practices for adequacy. Conducts and documents reviews of engineering materials related to the design and release of software artifacts. Supports development of software quality assurance measurements and influences the successful completion of supported programs and projects.

Interacts with product development and test personnel through both written and verbal communication. Works as a self-starter. Advocates and/or recommends enhancements to department processes and procedures. Familiar with emerging software quality and software assurance technologies.

The team is looking for candidates who are interested in focusing their skills and competencies in one or more of the following product domains:

Qualifications You Must Have:

B.S. in one of the following: Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical & Computer Science Engineering, Systems Engineering, Software Information Management Systems.Must currently have or be able to obtain a DoD issued Secret security clearanceMust have practical experience using high order programming languagesFamiliarity with the development processes of software, firmware and/or configurable logicExhibits exceptional teaming abilityAbility to effectively coordinate with both product and functional teamsDemonstrated change agent attributes

Qualifications We Value:

Be able to conduct software quality assessments of software products and artifactsKnowledge in product development in a DoD environmentKnowledgeable with DevOps and Agile practicesKnowledgeable with CMM / CMMI practicesKnowledge of Six Sigma practices to continuously improve software systemsFamiliarity with Quality Management System requirements based on AS9100 and AS9115Practical experience with Test Systems, including Test Equipment software

Requires theoretical knowledge typically obtained through University Degree. Limited to some knowledge of RTX organization.

Typically requires a University Degree or equivalent experience and less than 2 years prior relevant experience. Engineering/Other Technical Positions:

Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 2 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations.
