Buckeye Partners is currently seeking a Specialist, Networkin the Oil & Gas Industry to join our growing team!

Role Summary:

Design, install, and support the company network infrastructure. Implement network security and maintain/troubleshoot all local and wide area networks (LAN/WAN) within the company to meet business requirements.

Responsibilities & Essential Functions include:Network Design. Perform network design and equipment procurement including the configuration and deployment of Cisco routers, switches, firewalls, access control appliances, VPN, load balancers, and WLAN devices.Network Support. Providing network infrastructure support by troubleshooting and providing maintenance and upgrades.Proactive network monitoring. Identify trends as they develop; analyze trends and develop long-range plans designed to resolve problems and prevent them from recurring; maintain high service levels for the user community, and establish a method to easily compare the installation performance against established performance objectives.Develop and implement infrastructure test procedures. Create network testing platforms; Design test networks for equipment evaluation; Develop automated test suites for product regression and stress testing.Coordinate the installation and upgrades of communication circuits. Support and troubleshoot existing circuits.Participate in various IT projects intended to continually improve/upgrade the network infrastructure. Evaluate new hardware/software platforms that will meet business needs or make a process more cost effective; Identify opportunities and recommend solutions for improving service efficiency and effectiveness; Assist in developing strategic planning of LAN/WAN environments.Develop and implement LAN/WAN support procedures and guidelines. Interact and support field technicians; Assist in setting priorities and managing resources to achieve project goals; Assist in the management of outside vendors, consultants, and associates.Provide after hours (On Call) support as needed on a regular rotation.And other duties as assigned.Position Requirements:Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, related discipline, or equivalent experience3-5+ years' experience in infrastructure/network environments.Demonstrated knowledge and experience with communication service provider technologies and circuit installation.Broad range of LAN/WAN/Wireless/VPN knowledge and skills is desired.Network device experience: Cisco Series Routers, Switches, WAN Optimization, Wireless LAN Controllers, Firewalls, Access Control Appliances, and IPS/IDS systems.Network protocol experience: TCP/IP, OSPF, EIGRP, BGP, IRDP, HSRP, and SNMP protocols. CAT 5e/6 and fiber optic network cabling.Network Management/Monitoring Tools: Solar Winds Orion Suite, Diamond IP Control, Fluke TruView Netflow, SNMP/TFTP/Syslog, and Wire Shark.Applications: Microsoft Office Suite including Visio.Ability to travel up to 20% domestically and internationallyCertificates & Licenses:None requiredOther Skills, Attributes and Abilities:The successful party must have excellent problem-solving skills and project management skills, with the ability to see a project through to completion, both large and small, in a cross-functional environment.Additionally, one must have effective communication skills (both written and oral) with a broad base of end users and multiple management layers.One must have good interpersonal skills coupled with a strong sense of customer service.The position also requires good judgment and analytical skills with strong follow-up and organizational skills.Flexible hours and some travel may be required.Essential Functions:This position requires the ability to safely and successfully perform essential job functions consistent with ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and or/quantitative productivity standards.This role requires the ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.This position requires compliance with all personnel policies.Physical & Safety Requirements:The person in this position needs to occasionally move inside the office to access file cabinets, office equipment, etc.This role continuously operates a computer and other office productivity equipment (i.e. a calculator, copy machine and computer printer).About You:
