Job Description:

Science, Systems and Applications Inc. (SSAI) is seeking a Senior RF Communications Engineer for the Electrical Systems Engineering Services III (ESES III) contract at the NASA Goddard Space Flight Center (GSFC) in Greenbelt, MD.

The successful candidate will provide support to several Lunar missions, assisting the RF Design Leads with all aspects of the communications subsystem development for these programs including link budget calculations, requirements definition, spectrum management compliance, review and approval of test procedures and test data as well as oversight of hardware vendors and support of manufacturing, test readiness, and failure review boards.

Required Qualifications: A Masters in electrical engineering with a minimum of 10 years of experience or a Bachelors with a minimum of 12 years of experience in satellite RF communications is required. Experience writing and reviewing technical requirements and verification documents Experience in developing RF link budgets Familiarity with satellite communications hardware such as transceivers, antennas and amplifiers Experience in troubleshooting and resolving anomalies Experience working with vendors Excellent written and oral communications skills Ability to work in a team environment Desired Qualifications: Familiarity with CCSDS standards is a plus.
