Job Description:

Science Systems And Applications Inc. (SSAI) is seeking an Instrument Engineer to support the Clouds and Earth's Radiant Energy System (CERES) project at NASA Langley Research Center (LaRC). The individual will join a team of engineers and scientists to support the instrument operation planning, commanding and related activities to operate the CERES instruments on Terra, Aqua, S-NPP and NOAA20 spacecrafts. The candidate will contribute to the development of procedures for performing special maneuvers to meet science objectives. He/she will also work on operations related documentation and support the development of various software tools to aid the monitoring of instruments.

Required Qualifications

BS in Electrical, Mechanical, Aerospace engineering, Physics or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Familiarity with Microsoft Operating System and MS Office software

Technical writing and verbal communication skills

Should be a US person (citizen/permanent resident)

Desired Qualifications

MS in Electrical, Mechanical, Aerospace engineering or Physics

Spaceflight Mission Operations experience

Spaceflight Instrument operations experience

Programming skills

Familiarity with Systems Tool Kit (STK)
