Title:
Modeling & Simulation Technology Subject Matter Expert
KBR requires a Modeling & Simulation Technology SME, located in Dayton, OH, to support a portfolio of US Air Force technology initiatives and weapon system programs. This candidate will contribute to and/or lead engineering and operational studies and analyses to support major USAF technology and capability investments. The candidate will provide expert guidance and recommendations to USAF technology developers and weapon system program offices which will integrate digital engineering practices with operational performance analyses. The candidate will develop systems engineering and program development strategies that merge digital engineering tools with modeling and simulation approaches. Participates in the company's business planning in the areas of personal technical and market expertise relevant to key USAF organizations. Serves as technology consultant providing technical guidance and solutions as a member of multidisciplinary teams addressing real-world client challenges. Conducts special studies and investigations related to project activities and recommends digital engineering strategies to improve design efficiency, reduce cycle time, and verify whether system performance meets complex requirements. Provides education and training for internal technical talent and external customers in modeling and simulation disciplines and digital technologies. Acts as consultant to senior management.
Travel: Recurring travel (~10%) to AFLCMC product and logistics centers, Air Force Sustainment Center, and contractor locations.
Requirements:
• Familiarity with current USAF technology and system development processes and policies to include digital engineering, systems engineering, test & evaluation, and functional disciplines contributing to weapon system research and development
• Experience in a technical leadership role with DoD technology development and/or weapon system development programs
• Experience directing DoD modeling, simulation, and analysis (MS&A) tool development and implementation for system performance optimization and operational employment analysis from physics-level to campaign-level
• Experience in a leadership role within complex program relationships involving DoD, defense industry, commercial industry, and end-users with operational commands
• Familiarity integrating key functions for ACAT I/II/III programs including systems engineering, cost analysis, software development, test and evaluation, and logistic planning
DoD Clearance Requirement: TOP SECRET
Education/Experience:
• Master's degree in engineering or related technical discipline
• 15 years of related experience
• Experience as Chief Engineer, Lead Engineer, or technical Division Chief in a DoD technology and/or weapon system environment
• System Planning, Research, Development and Engineering Level III DAWIA certification
