KBR is seeking aaSATCOM Data Scientist professionalto support Science and Technology (S&T) efforts associated with the Narrowband Satellite Communications (NBSC) program. In this position, you will provide Advisory and Assistance Service (A&AS) to Space Systems Command (SSC) for procurement of additional satellites, ground systems and follow-on capability to the MUOS program.

Role and Responsibilities:Performs all functional duties independentlySupport S&T efforts to inform Government investment decisionsResearch and analyze science, engineering, business, and other data processing problems to develop, recommend, and implement solutions to complex applications problems, system administration issues, or network concernsPerform systems management and integration functions, improve existing systems, and review system capabilities, workflow, and schedule limitationsAnalyze and recommend solutionsTransform user requests or requirements into technical design specifications and serve as a liaison between various partiesCommunicate clearly, concisely, and with technical accuracy-oral and writtenRequired skills:Minimum three (3) years DoD/IC, or relevant industry work experience on SATCOMSpecialized systems analytical support experience with a Navy acquisition program or related/comparable experience with Department of Defense (DoD) agenciesExperience in design, development, demonstration and testing of promising S&T projectsExperience coordinating and incorporating other government acquisition and operational organizations requirements into S&T development and demonstration effortsPrepare and maintain technical data, reports, documentation, and briefingsDeliver technical reports, preparation of technical briefing materials reportsExperience with Statements of Work (SOW) and Performance Work Statements (PWS)Desired skills:Nine (9) years of relevant DoD and/or Industry work experience Narrowband SATCOM/MUOSAdvisory and Assistance Service (A&AS) to Government program officeUnderstanding of space operational environment and corresponding mission user needsExperience with ACAT I/II level acquisition programsExperience in Space Systems Command (SSC) acquisitionFluency with Naval Information Warfare Systems Command (NAVWAR) organizationsEducation Requirements: Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Science (BA/BS) degree from an accredited college or universityClearance:Candidate must have active TOP SECRET clearance with SCI eligibility as a condition of employmentLocation/Travel Requirements:Full-time, on site in vicinity of San Diego, CA, and will require travel up to 25% of time within the continental United StatesIn compliance with the U.S. federal government's vaccine mandate, only candidates who are fully vaccinated for COVID-19 or have a reasonable accommodation or approved medical exception will be considered for this position.
