HII - MT is currently seeking a Senior Test Automation Developer to work out of the USPS Postal Service Headquarters location in Washington, DC. The position is a part of the overall United States Postal Service (USPS) PostalOne! Customer Acceptance Testing (CAT) team, which is responsible for developing, running, and maintaining applications test scripts to support the business functions of the organization. The successful candidate will have advanced to expert level knowledge of automation test tools and will participate in the planning, designing, maintenance and running of automated tests in a fast-paced environment requiring highly complex test automation programming techniques. This role requires proficiency and strong hands-on experience in developing and executing test scripts using HP's Unified Functional Testing (UFT), Kafka, Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) tools, advanced Excel Macro Development and SOAPUI/Postman API testing. Experience working in an Agile Software Development environment is desirable. Candidates who can also demonstrate experience with the following are preferred: VersionOne Agile backlog management tool, version control software, task-tracking tools, and mailing industry data exchange standards.
What You'll Do
The Senior Test Automation Developer must be able to perform the following tasks with minimal supervision:
Design and develop Test Automation Scripts and API components to automate business processes to meet Client's needs in Excel Macros, Visual Basic (VBA), UFT and/or ALM Work with business analysts to understand requirements and translate them into technical designs Develop necessary functionality in Excel Macros, VBA, UFT and/or ALM following the tech designs Perform troubleshooting, triage issues and address bugs in Production Be involved in all phases of the development lifecycle Develop scripts to perform data validation across all data bases by importing data automatically from MySQL and/or Oracle data bases Write custom scripts to perform data analysis on the imported data Develop automated scripts for API (using SOAPUI/Postman) and UI testing Develops, modifies, applies, and maintains standards for software systems quality operating methods, processes, and procedures. Conducts evaluation of software systems activities including requirements, design, development, documentation, integration, test, verification and validation. Defines appropriate measures to ensure product quality. Develops overall operating criteria to ensure implementation of the software quality program according to project, process and contract requirements and objectives. Ensures that projects and process control documentation are compliant with requirements, objectives and/or contracts. Reviews software systems design, change specifications, and plans against contractual and/or process requirements. Reviews include applicable specifications, materials, tools, techniques, and methodologies. Provides or directs verification and validation of software system requirements, traceability, and testability.
What You Must Have
10 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 7 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; 4 years relevant experience with PhD or Juris Doctorate in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 13 years relevant experience. 7+ years of hands-on Automation experience with VBA, UFT and/or ALM Expertise with Microsoft Word, Excel, Access and SQL Excellent writing and communication skillset Business analysis Requirements analysis Provide user support and problem resolution. Maintain required documentation. Provide on-call support as required to support the production systems. Communicate project status, deliverables, priorities, problems, and contingencies. Effectively and proactively works with customers/end users of application(s) to ensure needs are being met / managed in a positive manner. Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information Must be able to obtain and maintain a USPS Sensitive Clearance Must be a U.S. Citizen, have a Green Card or EAD and have been living in the U.S. for at least the last five years and not traveled outside the U.S. for more than 180 days in the past 5 years. All candidates will be subject to a pre-employment background investigation and drug screening per HII requirements.
