The Desktop Support Intern is responsible for the providing hands on support for deploying and maintaining laptops, desktops and peripherals. Additionally, this role provides support for configuring and installing applications and provides support to the end users. This role is responsible for complying with Corporate IT policies and security parameters, as well as providing superior customer service to internal customers.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Provide support for deploying and maintaining laptops, desktops and peripherals. Provide support for the configuring and installation of applications that have been adapted within our environment. Provide end user support as requested. Ensure all configurations comply with Corporate IT policies and security parameters. Maintain asset inventory of software and hardware through Service Desk software. Perform additional duties as assigned. Basic Qualifications: Current High School Senior; Enrolled in an intensive IT program; Working knowledge of Windows 7 for Desktop and Laptop PCs. Additional Qualifications: Technical aptitude and problem solving ability; Knowledge of Microsoft Windows 7, Office 2010 Suite and network printing; Troubleshooting and analysis skills of laptop and desktop hardware; Ability to follow oral and written instructions; Effective verbal and written communication skills; Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
