The Electro-Optical Hardware in the Loop (EO HWIL) department has the responsibility to design, develop and maintain complex engineering test environments (missile flight simulators) that operate in real-time closing the guidance, navigation, and tracking loops with Raytheon Missile and Defense (RMD) products.  
 

Job Summary:  
 

This position is for aSr.Software Engineer who has the educational and professional experience in the development and implementationof softwarefor real-timeapplications for real-time scene generation.  

 

You will be responsible for the development, implementation, and utilization of software to interface real-time and closed loop with weapon subsystems in a way that provides an operationally relevant stimulus to allow for weapon software development,integration, and test. Real-time scene generators are high-end, multi-core workstations running Linux as the base Operating System ( OS). You will also be responsible for development and integration of signature generators, Electro-Optical (EO) sensor models for infrared (IR) and visual (Vis) wave bands, interfaces to six-degrees of freedom simulations, and development of video injection to the Unit Under Test (UUT). The tasking requires applied knowledge of C/C++, multi-threading, multi-process programming, and Compute Unified Device Architecture ( CUDA) Graphics Processing Unit (GPU) programming. Additional responsibilities for development of requirements and system designs prior to software development.

Qualifications You Must Have:    

Requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of five(5) or more years of relevant experience  
Developingand testing software using C++ or closely related software languages  
NVIDIA CUDA and or OpenGL development experience  
Multi-threaded / multi-process development experience  


Developing software for real-time control of events and synchronization  
Experience in Unix/Linux computing environments  
Working knowledge in computer scripting language such as Shell/Perl/Python  


 

Qualifications We Value:    

Master's Degree (MS) preferred in a STEM discipline  
Experience using software optimization techniques and timing analysis to ensure real-time operation and synchronization of software products  
Working knowledge in the development and integration of software drivers for the operation of computer hardware interfaces  
Working knowledge in common computer hardware interface and data protocols such as TCP/IP, UDP, RS-422, USB, PCI, and Rio  


Proficiency utilizing software debugging tools to troubleshoot software implementation and ensure integrity of the software products  
Experience developing requirements for software products  
Understanding of computer architecture and computer hardware optimization techniques  
Working knowledge of Software Configuration Management principles environments and tools  
Working knowledge and experience with configuration management tools such asGit  


Knowledge of distributed system development and integration  
Ability to adapt to a dynamic and challenging environment
