Job Description:
• Designs, implements and evaluates an organization's learning courses and programs.
• Applies advanced consulting skills and/or extensive technical expertise, full industry knowledge.
• Develops innovative solutions to complex problems. Works without considerable direction; mentors and supervises team members.
• Train foreign military students to become practitioners in work center functions and WQSB responsibilities ranging from OJT to high-performance skills associated with cross-training and team performance required support independent ship operations in a minimally manned highly automated ship using mentoring and team building skills.
• Design, implement, and evaluate learning courses and programs.
• Apply advanced consulting and extensive technical expertise in Littoral Combat Ship (LCS) Systems. Leverage full industry knowledge.
• Develop innovative solutions to complex problems. Manage multiple courses and training systems using traditional classrooms, online training, distributed classrooms, and multiple virtual reality training systems.
Basic Qualifications:
• 15+ years’ experience as qualified U.S. Navy/Coast Guard Surface Warfare/Cutterman
• 15+ years’ combined leadership experience in shipboard evolutions and training/education, engineering, damage control, and readiness assignments
• 5 years of experience with instruction, scheduling instruction, and training systems for large groups of students with LCS or similar classes of ships
• 3 years’ experience in LCS training and simulation system development and delivery
• 3 years’ experience with managing 100 or more students and multiple training pipelines
• 3 years’ experience as a training liaison officer at a Fleet Training Group (FTG) or Afloat Training Group (ATG)
• 3 years’ experience developing and delivering multiple courses of instruction with instructors and training systems using traditional classrooms, online training, distributed classrooms, and multiple virtual reality training systems
• 2 years’ experience as an instructor in a Navy Training Environment, to include curriculum maintenance, writing learning objectives, preparing test items, evaluating instructional materials and the results of instruction and counseling
• 2 years’ experience with NAVOSH programs, including Heat Stress, Hearing Conservation, Hazardous Materials, Sight Conservation, Respiratory Protection, Tag-Out, Electrical Safety, and Gas-free Engineering
• 2 years’ experience in Engineering and/or Combat Systems assessments
• Experience teaching international students
• BA or BS degree in Education or related field
• Strong leadership skills
• Active Secret clearance required
Preferred Qualifications:
• Designation as a Master Training Specialist
• MA or MS degree in Education or related field
• Security Assistance experience
