Job Description:

ASRC Federal Netcentric Technologies is seeking a Water Treamtent Specialist to support our contract at Kirtland AFB in Albuquerque, NM.

Responsibilities:

Test water for a variety of factors and treatment parameters including turbidity, Ph balance,
biochemical oxygen demand, filterable and non-filterable residue, suspended solids, copper and lead content, temperature, pressure, flow rates, taste, color, alkalinity, hardness and other factors as required; based on laboratory test results, calculate chemical dosages, filter rates, residuals and other operational controls; collect samples for laboratory analysis by County health officials as necessary.
Prepare and maintain records required to prepare daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual reports for distribution to appropriate regulatory agencies; assure proper documentation is submitted to obtain required permits.
Assure compliance with a variety of State, federal and local laws, regulations and ordinances
regarding water quality for domestic use, wastewater treatment and related activities.
Inspect, service, maintain and operate pumps, filters, valves, lines, switches, gauges, meters,
reservoirs, storage tanks, automated electrical controls, blowers, lift station, belts and motors, and related equipment; install and replace tubing and pipe as needed; replace damaged or malfunctioning parts; change filters, oil and clean equipment.
Test and analyze water samples to maintain proper chemical levels in boilers, cooling towers and chilled and heating water systems.
Replace defective parts or install new control devices to maintain quality of water treatment.
Inspect, disassemble and repair damaged or malfunctioning control devices for water distribution systems.
Repair and maintain pumps, meters, hoses, filters, plumbing parts, chemical distribution systems and related equipment.
Maintains records and databases utilizing the work order system, MS Word and Excel for all water tests.
Operate and maintain reverse osmosis units to purify and treat water used in research laboratories.
Inventory and store chemical products.

Two years' experience in conducting analysis and testing of water samples (i.e. pH, alkalinity, chlorine residual, turbidity, bacteria, dissolved oxygen, hardness, and color).
Valid state driver's license
Favorable passage of a drug screen
Must be able to pass a background check and hold a Security Clearance

Work Environment:

The employee will perform this work mainly outdoors, with frequent exposure to electronic office equipment, as well the outdoor elements. May be exposed to extreme cold or hot weather conditions. Is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and loud noise.
