Kearney has an exciting new opportunity for a Senior Associate to join our team! The Senior Associate will support an Internal Controls project in Washington, DC, and should be well-versed in OMB Circular A-123. Responsibilities include:
Develop and implement an audit strategy that complies with professional standards and appropriately addresses risksPerform business process internal control assessments (test of design and effectiveness)Facilitate internal control walk-throughs and document the outcomeIdentify and implement operational efficienciesDevelop Mission Action Plans (MAPS) and/or Corrective Action Plans (CAPS)Perform assessments to test whether payments were made properly and in accordance with the Improper Payments Elimination and Recovery Improvement Act (IPERIA) of 2013 and support development of the Observation ReportUnderstand the client's industry and recognize key performance drivers, business trends and industry developmentsPerform audit liaison tasks, as requiredCollaborate to plan engagement objectives, actions, and status reporting

Required Qualifications
Bachelors degree from an accredited college/university in Accounting, Business Administration with a major in Accounting, Finance, or relevant field of studyMinimum 5 years of professional experience in areas such as accounting, financial management, internal controls, and/or audit, with government experience preferredCPA, CPA eligible, CGFM, or CIA [CPA eligible is having: 1) An Accounting Degree, 2) 150 or more college credits to be able to sit for the CPA exam, 3) Studying for the CPA exam, or 4) Passed at least 1 part of CPA exam]Experience in one of the following areas: Grants Management, Insurance Management, or Internal ControlsAbility to obtain government agency suitability (US citizenship required)
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in Federal Government accounting, financial management, internal controls, and/or audit
