Job Description:
Remain posted directly outside the main customer entrance while remaining highly visible for crime prevention. Responding immediately if called upon to assist employees from inside the facilities with a security-related incident. Remaining focused and attentive to surroundings and observe all people and employees entering facilities and reporting any incidents. Maintaining and presenting a professional image and presence to deter or defuse security-related situations. Ability to extend professional and courteous service to all customers and employees without becoming distracted with customer issues or casual conversation. Maintaining a professional demeanor in all actions. Must be polite and courteous in all interactions with personnel and customers while maintaining direct eye contact. Refrain from acts of anger both of a verbal and physical nature. Refer customer issues to a customer service representative so that focus is on security related duties. Provide employee security escorts to/from the posting facilities upon request Using radio or cellular communications devices, to be used in case of an emergency May be required to maintain parking lot or traffic control if requested by company supervisor Use his or her best professional judgment to reach a decision and then notify the Vendor supervisor of the actions taken immediately thereafter. Immediately seek the assistance of law enforcement and/or medical services personnel (as appropriate) in any emergency related situation. Refrain from any physical involvement or action during situations requiring law enforcement intervention unless necessary as a last resort to protect others from serious injury or bodily harm. Immediately report any criminal or suspicious activity, accident, injury, natural disaster, forced removal of an unwanted person(s), or other security-related incident to the Store Manager and company Security Response Center In occurrence of criminal activity, shall not intervene or take any overt action (including following or physically apprehending) against any person committing a crime, thus avoiding employees and customers being placed in a high risk and harm's way status. Must observe the suspect at a safe distance, memorize a physical description of the suspect and clothing worn, and observe at a safe distance the route and manner of escape including a description of the getaway vehicle and license plate number. Complete incident reports in the event a crime or security incident (e.g., medical emergency, evacuation, damage to building, injury, suspicious persons or activity, disorderly behavior, etc.) occurs while the Officer is on duty. Immediately report all incidents to the representative and be forwarded to representative within 1 business day after the incident occurs.
Qualifications:
Must possess a high degree of security professionalism and attention to detail to protect company employees, customers, tenants, guests, property and others Demonstrate the ability to read, write, and speak fluent English equivalent to, at least, a high school graduate Possess strong communications skills including, but not limited to, the ability to clearly articulate security conditions to as required Have minimum, knowledge of state and local laws, good observation and customer service skills Ability to operate radio or telephone equipment Verifiable employment demonstrating reliability Communicate effectively verbally and in writing Demonstrate ability to manage high pressure situations Strong operational knowledge of company policies
Requirements:
Basic:
Follow any and all post orders Must not possess while on site, any item that is considered a weapon, unless authorized to do so by corporate Security and the Officer's employer. The following includes, but is not limited to, those items considered a weapon: firearms including a handgun or rifle, mace, pepper spray, blackjacks, batons, bats, knives of any length, and any other self-defense weapon. Must have access to reliable transportation Able to work a flexible schedule May be required to train newly assigned guards
Education & Experience:
Possess a valid high school diploma, GED, or equivalent Minimum of 1 year general guard experience (does not have to be financial) Minimum or 5 years general guard experience in a corporate office environment dealing with events of a criminal nature; or a minimum of I year general corporate office environment dealing with events of a criminal nature and 3 years law enforcement experience.
Licensing, Permits & Certifications:
Must be CPR certified
Physical & Mental Requirements:
Must be able to stand on your feet for long periods of time. Can run 50-yards in 10 seconds or less. Be able to carry or drag 50 pounds for a distance of 30 feet. Have eyesight corrected to 20/20.
