$3,000 Sign-On Bonus for those new to state service with signed one year written agreement.
There is an opportunity for you to earn Retention Bonuses with continued employment quarterly ($3,000) that could equate to ($12,000) annually!
Eastern State Hospital, located in Williamsburg, Virginia, was founded in 1773, with a well-intentional emphasis on community focused mental health care. This state of the art campus, situated on 500 acres, consists of two patient care buildings with 300 patients, and a highly skilled staff of over 900. Eastern State Hospital is part of the Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services ( DBHDS ) system, and is accredited by the Joint Commission.
ESH invites applicants for the position of DSA III - Arts and Crafts.
Reporting directly to the Therapy Supervisor, duties and responsibilities consist of the following: Providing activities/groups to meet the psychiatric and physical needs of our patients. Plan and implement activities/groups for the adult patient. Ensure that all patients receive the highest quality of care.
The position is considered essential personnel and would be required to work in the event of an emergency or facility need. All ESH positions are required to work different shifts and/or overtime as requested.
Day Shift: 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Minimum Qualifications
Ability to act in the capacity of essential personnel during emergency/crisis situation.
Ability to plan and implement goal oriented arts and crafts activities to meet the needs of the adult and geriatric, psychiatric patients.
Proof of competence in various arts and crafts media (for example, a portfolio or list of past projects, activities or mediums).
Ability to break down activities into smaller tasks to enhance success.
Ability to stimulate and sustain interest of individuals in activities.
Ability to document patient progress and attendance.
Ability to provide care to patients individually and in groups.
Must be able to rotate Weekend / Holiday activities.
Valid Driver's License.
Ability to operate a 15-passenger state van.
