The GBS Group, an engineering services and consulting firm, is seeking a Diesel Technician to join our Philadelphia Engineering Office. Responsibilities Include:
Evaluation of technical material issues for engines in the assigned fleet. Technical publication and bulletin updates on material issues for engines in the assigned fleet. Support the technical evaluation of requests for Departure from Specification. Evaluation of technical manual change recommendations to include PMS and EOSS.
Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Marine Engineering OR at least 6 years of US Navy Engineman experience in the areas of diesel and power generating systems, with specific operational and maintenance experience demonstrated on the following engine lines: Colt-Pielstick PC2.5, FME Opposed Caterpillar 3608, or Colt-Pielstick PA6B Four (4) years of experience in the development and technical review of Diesel Engine technical documentation Three (3) years of experience in Diesel Maintenance Strategy (DMS) and Diesel Readiness System (DRS) programs (i.e. are technical manuals, planned maintenance, depot level maintenance and operational procedures) USCG Licensed Marine Engineers with sailing experience or personnel that have experience in US Navy diesel system or propulsion plant inspections/assessments is preferred (i.e. Builders, acceptance and final task order trials, DEBA, etc.) Ability to obtain/ maintain a Security Clearance (US Citizenship Required)
