How you will contribute to LifeNet Health's success:

As a Family Support Coordinator you would work under the general direction of the Manager On Call the Family Support Coordinator (FSC) provides support and guidance to family members of potential organ donors by providing end- of- life decisions by providing early support where applicable and facilitating approach for organ and tissue donors. The FSC is required to make independent decisions when approaching families based on training and experience. Collaborates with hospital staff as well as other LNH staff to determine the appropriate time to approach the family to obtain authorization and preform Donor Risk assessment form.

What you'll do:
Works empathetically, compassionately and professionally with families in crisis and to advocate for donation and transplantation.Focus on Donation after Cardiac Death and non-registered donor potential donors.Provides early support to families that are in need and have the possibility of becoming a donor.Develops effective professional and personal relationships quickly, possess superior communication skills. Displays experience in crisis assessment, intervention, and counseling.Works within hospital to increase physician and other hospital personnel openness and responsiveness to potential organ and tissue donation by developing and maintaining effective relationships with key physicians and other personnel.Conducts the Donor risk assessment interview with the family or next of kin and documents accurately.Complies with LNH's Quality systems and Corporate compliance programs.
What you'll bring (Minimum Requirements):
Bachelor's Degree in Social Work, Pastoral Care, Crisis Intervention or related field required; Master's Degree in Social Work, Pastoral Care, Crisis Intervention or related field preferred.3 years experience with Social work, Pastoral care, Healthcare or related field required. 5 years experience in an OPO or Transplant Center Or experience with care of donor family preferred.Valid State Driver's LicenseCOVID-19 Vaccination required

Knowledge of complex and diversified procedures, practices, and policies. Ability to follow SOP's. Requires following somewhat defined procedures.Knowledge of complex procedures and practices of a specific function. Problems encountered are somewhat complex.Proficiency with basic and complex business machines (computers, etc.) Microsoft Office Products, Laptop, Fax, Internet.Logical Analysis Skills - Requires thinking through and solving problems step by step; often has to look beyond the obvious solution to a problem and dig deeper for the best solution.Interpersonal Communication - Requires communicating well with people at different levels; frequently sharing information with others while listening to and understanding their points of view. Ability to build consensus groups.Psychological Skills - Ability to work under extreme pressure and high emotional situations. The ability to cope with issues pertaining to death.
