PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Interface with Marine Corps Base Quantico G-6, Marine Corps Cyberspace Command (MARFORCYBER) G-6, Marine Corps Intelligence Activity (MCIA) Chief Information Officer (CIO), and Marine Corps Information Operations Center (MCIOC) S-6 as needed in performance of the tasks below. The networks supported include the Non-Classified Internet Protocol Router (NIPR), Secure Internet Protocol (SIPR), and Top Secret networks Provide second-tier support to end-users resolving problems involving standalone computers /workstations, server, or mainframe systems.
This support is inclusive of applications, hardware and networking Interact with network services, software system engineering, and/or applications development to restore service and/or identify and correct core problem
This work may involve both remote and on-site support Serve as the Tier II Systems Administrator and provide subject matter experts and personnel with significant knowledge of and experience with specified systems Provide staff to the appropriate levels in order to field all contacts (phone calls, emails, chats, etc.) and immediately generate incident and service request tickets, including those for on-site support, using the government furnished incident management systems Resolve both basic and complex system issues while maintaining the ability to promptly address second tier support issues centered on Microsoft Windows and Office applications, commercial-off-the-shelf applications such as Adobe Acrobat, Internet Explorer, and related supporting software like Oracle Java plug-ins Support the Administration of network switches, and have expertise with configuring deploying, and maintaining CISCO and Juniper product lines. Tasks shall include but are not limited to:
Creating virtual local area networks (VLANs)Securing port configurationManaging and updating configuration filesInstalling new or additional network switches Provide network and infrastructure management, to include:
Managing port assignments for network provisioning devicesProviding insight / recommendations into the configuration and inter-relationship of supported multiplexed network devices and cable plant components supporting a provisioned service Providing a flexible and extendable method to document key management, maintenance and warranty parameters specific to any network device (e.g. network switches, PBX, wireless hubs,etc.) Submit for repair warrantied items, track and reinstall once returned from repair. (RMA).Tracking installation and certification parameters for copper, coaxial and fiber optic cable plantsIdentify the installed equipment and cable terminations at various distribution frames (e.g. main, building, intermediate and local telecommunication closets)Submit and manage active network configuration / modification change tickets from creation through closeoutConduct rack management, maintain and update rack space diagrams Develop recommended communication plans, and requirements information, with related costing information (circuits, IP requirements, equipment, software, and maintenance projections) to address MARFORCYBER objectives
MINIMUM SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS:
Must have six to eight (6-8) years' experience operating an IT Helpdesk supporting computer networks, telephones, and VTCs; Certifications: COMP TIA-A+, NET+, or SECURITY+Cisco routing and advanced switching minimum TS/SCI security clearance with Counter Intelligence (CI) polygraph
DESIRED SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor's or Master's degree and six to eight years work related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience Capable of operating cyber range and IT lab testing environments Experience with NetApp storage management and configuration Experience with Server and Cisco Unified Computing System (UCS) management and configurationExperience with VSphere Virtual environment management and configuration. Requires an intermediate level of proficiency to apply significant job related experience Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) preferred
