Virtually every Space mission success starts with a strong foundation of facility infrastructure design, construction, and execution management, which is performed risk free in support of business needs without interruption. As a member of our Facilities team, you’ll have the opportunity to use your education and experience to take on interesting challenges and become an integral part of our team as we maintain state of the art engineering facilities. We operate in a dynamic environment to stay ahead of facility infrastructure needs and maintenance projects that may be performed in facilities such as anechoic & thermal vacuum chamber test areas, critical manufacturing & assembly areas, technology support operations centers, and cutting-edge customer demonstration capabilities to name a few. Your innovative maintenance approaches will enable our ability to achieve mission success.
Our facility in Huntsville, AL has an immediate opportunity for a General Maintenance Technician to join our mission. This position will give you the opportunity to perform various corrective and preventive maintenance procedures to keep our operation running strong.
Key duties: In this role, you will...
o Perform a variety of duties in support of Facilities maintenance/operation at the Lockheed Martin Huntsville campus
o Perform interior and exterior painting, including masking, taping, priming, and finishing
o Conduct routine maintenance and maintain accurate records on all equipment, components, and systems
o Work from engineering drawings and written and/or verbal instructions
o Perform routine inspections to diagnose necessary repair and maintenance work
o Complete general tasks through our work order system requested by customers
Our employees working in this level of position typically have 1+ years of experience.

o High School Diploma
o General Knowledge with basic carpentry, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, plastic or sheet metal fabrication, and/or other associated work on plant facilities using hand and power tools
o Proficient with drywall repair and painting interior and exterior
o Proficient with basic computer systems (email, Microsoft Office applications)
o Ability to process, track, and status work orders using applicable software
o Must be able to climb ladders and work at heights
o Must be able to lift heavy objects up to 50 lbs
o Must be a United States citizen and be able to obtain a Secret security clearance (an Interim Secret clearance will be required prior to beginning employment)
o Ability to obtain a secret clearance
o 4 years or more of Facilities-related work experience
o Good communication/ interpersonal skills
o Ability to work independently or as part of a multi-disciplinary team and function effectively in a rapidly changing environment with minimal supervision
o Self-starter, accountable, punctual, and willing to learn and take on new challenges
