Job Description:
Educational Experience: Bachelor's Degree in a relevant technical field
Experience Substitution for Education: 4-Years of relevant experience
Minimum Years Experience: 6-Years experience in AV operations, including video conferencing, sound systems, lighting, and maintenance.
Duties:
- Provide management and leadership to the AV team assigned
- Operate effectively in ScheduALL, to enter meeting information and contact customers regarding event AV requirements
- Communicate effectively with event planners, scientists, researchers, and high level clients while assisting with presentations
- Read and understand AV system drawings
- Troubleshoot AV system problems and report up the chain for action
- Understand and communicate current UHD/HD video broadcast production standards
- Provide services for sound reinforcement, set-up and configurations of computer presentations, webinars, lighting for video productions, VTC, audio conference calls, and audio recording
- Execute minor equipment repairs and system upgrades with the approval from the Chief AV Engineer
- Schedule and coordinate equipment repairs with outside vendors as needed with the approval from the Chief AV Engineer
- Provide customer service and technical assistance to event planners, presenters, clients multimedia staff, and others
- Monthly reports on audio visual equipment operating status
- Perform operation, maintenance, and inventory of audio and video equipment installed within the facilities
- Assist client staff in the monitoring of third party systems and equipment installations
- Maintain a real time help desk for conferences accessing the guest wireless networks and any presentation software
- Reviews engineering schematics (structural, electrical, HVAC, video, audio, and control systems) and makes written recommendations
- Review proposals and prepare written recommendations
- Coordinate connectivity between TOC, CIT, and client video production staff
- Assist with room changes when needed, to include, movement of tables, chairs and power arrays
- Test, calibrate, and maintain the equipment and systems for maximum performance
- Identify repair requirements in writing to Chief AV Engineer
Abilities/Skills/Knowledge Required by the Position:
- Possess strong leadership, strong communication, and strong management skills
- Good understanding of display technology, sound system EQ, and operations in large rooms
- Knowledge of preventative maintenance procedures and techniques
- Ability to maintain recordkeeping of systems and procedures
- Experience in troubleshooting and finding solutions for presenters computer projections
- Ability to configure various computers and models to interface with the presentation and television production equipment
- Ability to understand and communicate current and cutting edge video production standards and broadcast standards
- Understanding control systems, video transmission modes, satellites, fibers, CCTV's, video conferencing, webcasting, video production/editing, computer presentations, webinar formats, networking, and LAN fundamentals
- A background in audio production and any related certifications (AVIXA, etc.). If no certifications, must be able to obtain one in related fields (employer paid)
Supervisory Controls: Reports to Chief AV Engineer
Guidelines: Perform within the company and client standard operating procedures to promote a positive and successful working environment.
