This internship candidate will directly support the TacMobile Communications Sub-specialty lead in the NIWC Atlantic facility located in NAS Patuxent River, MD. Although not directly responsible for customer deliveries, the candidate is expected to be a meaningful contributor to the team's effort and must be able to harness past service experience with RF communications systems to advance program initiatives.
PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide RF COMM subsystem technical support to build, Integrate and test, engineering, verification and, validation of subsystem improvements in support of P-8A aircraft defined changes for TacMobile COMM upgradesProvide RF COMM subsystem technical support for planned P8A capabilities to align the TOC/MTOC's to the aircraftProvide RF COMM technical support for In Service Engineering of the current RF COMM related subsystems i.e.. Link-11, Link-16, UHF voice, SAT voice, HF, voice, TCDL, PCDL, ROVER, GBS, SHF, MT32, RMSA-2300, HF ACAS and HF Data circuitsProvide RF COMM subsystem technical efforts to document Change Requests, updates to subsystem documents i.e.. IRD, IDP, SOVT, FIT, PITCO, FRCB process, JAZZ documented defects and Change Request are kept up to date, documented test reports, Analysis of Alternatives, Recommended COAs
MINIMUM SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS:
Six (6) years' of experience with COMM related sub systems Technical knowledge in building, integrating and testing the COMM sub systems Demonstrated knowledge and skills in preparing related Installation Requirement Drawings (IRD) packages, Operations and Maintenance Manuals and user's manuals Must be detailed oriented, be able to follow written procedures and provide timely feedback to the RF COMM team lead in order to meet program schedules An active Secret clearance is required
DESIRED SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor's degreeEight (8) + years' of TacMobile experienceFive (5) years' of curriculum and training systems development in accordance with NAVEDTRA 130BCertification as Navy Curriculum Developer (NEC 9506) or Navy Instructor (NEC 805A) (Certified Master Training Specialist (MTS) preferred)Familiarity with FMS Policy and NESAFA
