Job Title: Jr. Systems Administrator - Space Missions

Peraton is seeking a Systems Administrator with experience in managing mission-critical, highly available, high-performance networked systems in a Department of Defense (DoD) environment. This position will be supporting the Systems Engineering group on an innovative and exciting program. The SE group is seeking an individual who can bring creative ideas to solve complex problems at both the technical and procedural team level. What you'll do...
Provide support in the installation, implementation, operation, maintenance and security of Microsoft Windows servers, Linux RedHat servers, and COTS applications. Support Microsoft systems (Desktops, Remote Desktop Services, Servers, SCCM, Active Directory Domain Controllers) hosted on both virtual and bare metal hardware. Resolve application and system software problems with applications to include secure print/scan, MFA, VoIP, MS Skype for Business, MS Office 2019, Windows Updates. Evaluate and recommend hardware/software enhancements as needed including management of system updates and patches. Troubleshoot configuration and integration issues in production. Monitor and optimize system performance. Create / develop a variety of scripts to streamline Operations & Maintenance (O&M) processes. Configure security on supported platforms, research security issues / warning notifications for applicability and implementation of patches and fixes. Ensure backup procedures are in place and executed on a timely basis. Independently work with internal and external stakeholders, including the end user community, for diagnosing system issues. Troubleshoot configuration and integration issues in development, test and production environments. Perform scheduled and allocated work, providing guidance on modernization initiatives, and resolving problems to meet technical performance and financial objectives.

Required Skills:
You hold an active Top Secret/SCI clearance and are willing to obtain a polygraph upon hire.
You are CompTIA Security + certified or working towards certification. You have a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, Systems Engineering or related field. However, equivalent experience in lieu of a degree will be considered. You have 1-2 years of experience providing system administration and production support for Windows Operating systems. You have 1 year of experience working with Linux systems. You have experience with Virtualization administration (OpenStack, Citrix XenServer, Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization, and/or VMWare). You have experience with SolarWinds, Dell OpenManage, and Splunk.
