You will serve as a ELECTRONICS TECHNICIAN in the IT Service Execution Division (N64), Auxiliary Fleet C4 Support Branch (N644), Fleet Service C4 Support Unit (N6441), Command, Control, Communications and Computer Systems Department (N6) of MILITARY SEALIFT COMMAND.

Responsibilities
You will provide a variety of services required to satisfactorily provision and sustain Command, Control, Communications and Computer (C4) services that directly affect the accomplishment of the MSC mission. You will coordinate innovative, unusual and/or routine shipboard electronics installation, maintenance and sustainment activities. You will provide recommendations to the Fleet Service C4 Support Unit Supervisor and Principal Port Engineer (PPE) on repairs to damaged electronic equipment on MSC ships. You will inspect MSC ships for compliance with internal official policies and procedures for vessel Navigational, Radio Communication and general electronic equipment with emphasis on reliability and reparability. You will be responsible for Security Compliance of all command and control, communications, and navigation systems to include, but not limited to, Certification and Accreditation, maintenance, remediation, reporting and inspections.

This position requires the employee to frequently travel from the normal duty station and may exceed fifty percent (50%). The employee may be required to work overtime and participate in training events scheduled outside of normal work hours. The employee may be required to work aboard surface vessels while underway on trial runs and regular operations. The incumbent may be required to do a considerable amount of walking, gaining access through small penetrations and climb ship structures (i.e. masts)., crawl and bend to accomplish shipboard inspections in a shipyard environment.

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience devising methods and procedures for electronics system troubleshooting, maintenance and/or repair; Experience researching and/or developing technical specifications for electronic system or component upgrades to meet new regulatory rules and regulations; Experience using life cycle support functions for corrective or preventive maintenance of electronic communication systems (e.g., AN/WSC-3 Transceiver Group or AN/USC-61 Digital Modular Radio [DMR] System, AN/ARC-210 Transceiver Group, OE-82/OE-570 Antenna Group, AN/URN-25 TACAN Navigation System, USC-69(V)3 Commercial Broadband Satellite Program (CBSP), AN/SYQ-26(V)2/7 NAVMACS); Experience using life cycle support functions for corrective or preventive maintenance of Bridge/Navigation systems (e.g., Automatic Identification System (AIS), Voyage Data Recorder (VDR), Surface Radar (3cm/X-Band and 10cm/S-Band), Doppler Speed Log, Electronic Chart Display Information System (ECDIS), Gyrocompass, Integrated Bridge System [IBS] Network (Ratheon, Northrop Grumman, Furuno)); Experience executing installation, maintenance, and/or sustainment activities for new and existing command and control, communications, and navigations systems in support of agency missions; Experience inspecting and/or evaluating shipboard communication systems to assess reliability, operation, readiness, and safety (e.g., MRE, SMART, and INSURV evolutions); Experience inspecting and/or evaluating shipboard Bridge/Navigation systems to assess reliability, operation, readiness, and safety (e.g., MRE, SMART, and INSURV evolutions).
