Overview
Capstone is seeking a DB2 Administrator to support the Records Management and Selection Board operations for the Navy Personnel Command. This individual is responsible for maintaining all DB2 database environments on AIX using database management and administration skills, to include monitoring, maintenance, performance tuning as well as supporting newly identified projects through involvement during the system inception and design phases. It also includes problem solving and daily trouble ticket resolution in support of Navy systems.

This position is located in Millington, TN.

Responsibilities
Performs DB2 fixpack and special build installs on AIX and Windows servers. Implements data security and hardening (groups, roles, privileges, authentication, TDE and auditing). Participates occasionally in weekend and evening database maintenance activities. Performs application upgrades as delivered by third party vendors and/or internal development staff. Performs tasks relating to IBM DB2 Database Management System (DBMS) applications, including definition, design, structure, documentation, upgrades, long-range requirements, operational guidelines, and protection. Develops, implements, and maintains in-house documentation for processes, including database feature such for common problem resolution and help ticket fixes Works independently to achieve day-to-day objectives with significant impact on operational results or project deliverables. Manages projects or processes within their assigned technical area. Develops technical solutions that require collaboration with internal experts, deep analyses and understanding of impact on end-product/solution. Communicates with internal and client project team members. Provides database monitoring, space management, and support. Responds to database related alerts and production problem issues Troubleshoots and performs performance tuning of DB2 Server. Maintains and keeps DB2 current with DISA Software Technical Implementation Guidelines (STIGs). Manages application and user accounts, logins, and security. Fulfills requests and resolves incidents within predefined SLAs. Enters and reviews data within the database. Ensures user data integrity. Maintains database support tools, database tables and dictionaries, and recovery and back-up procedures. Makes recommendations regarding enhancements and/or improvements.

Basic Qualifications
Minimum education and experience:
High school diploma. Six (6) years of related experience in IT operational support (such as data analysis, statistical analysis, problem solving, content management, or software and network programming).
Minimum qualifications:
Requires a strong understanding of and ability to apply principles, theories, and concepts of technical domain and has broad understanding of other related specialty areas. Demonstrated effective verbal and written communication skills. Demonstrated ability working effectively as part of a team and independently. Demonstrated experience operating and maintaining database servers and databases.Minimum certifications:
IBM DB2 certification (Version 10.5 or later) within six months of start date. Current qualifying IAT Level 2 baseline certification (e.g. CompTIA Security+ CE).Clearance:
Minimum interim Secret clearance.
