Job Description:

We are looking for a full-time Cyber Security Architect 1 (Azure specific) for our headquarters in Olathe, Kansas. In this role, you will provide leadership in project execution and design of new or existing security systems or applications across multiple functional, system, or module areas. Other essential functions include:
Development and design of security architectureDevelop understanding of architecture of systems with current security issues and risksLeads security analysis utilizing trends, threat analysis, and current business understanding. From this analysis diagnose or make recommendations for security improvements and risk mitigationUnderstand future business growth needs and determines impacts and risks to the security architecture Understand project or release requirements and determine impacts and risks to the system securityProvide cost effective architecture recommendations to support the security system's growth, maintain stability and provide a good user performance experienceThese recommendations could be infrastructure changes, software to support the application, or configuration recommendations. Solutions or recommendations should also take into account scalability for future growth needs.Research and Identify new technologies to improve system/data confidentiality, integrity, and availability. Leads or assists technology and product assessments, performing evaluations as required and making acquisition recommendations.Create and maintain architecture related strategies for existing and new solutions.Identifies and develops improvements to procedures and processes to satisfy security architecture requirements and streamline operations.Serves as a business wide leader in project execution and design of new or existing security architecturesConduct requirements gathering/design sessions for new functionality and customizations Test custom applicationsGathers and documents complex requirements for business needs and independently determines complex solution designs across multiple functional/systems/module areasTranslates, negotiates and communicates architectural and development concepts across development teams Develops project documentation including statements of work, detailed project plans, architecture designs, detailed implementation plans, deployment plans, project test plans and operational training materials Completes complex troubleshooting and is able to determine appropriate course of action to deliver actionable resultsDemonstrates broad understanding of Garmin's business model including Engineering, Operations, Finance, Sales & MarketingDevelops reliable solutions to complex problems which require the regular use of ingenuity and creativityExemplifies Garmin's Mission Statement and Quality Policy and proactively works to improve Garmin's image and culture Participate in project definition activities including feature analysis and system tradeoffsPerform other duties as necessary Qualified candidates possess a Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Management Information Systems, Business or another relevant field AND a minimum of 5 years relevant experience OR an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience. Other requirements include:
Outstanding academics with the demonstrated ability to apply learned knowledgeDemonstrated experience in Linux, Windows, TCP/IP protocol suites, Internet routing protocols, threat analysis, malware forensics, packet analysis, encryption, and security control implementation and maintenance.Demonstrated experience in successful implementation of technology solutionsDemonstrated strong and effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills in a large team or departmental settingSuperior academics (cumulative GPA greater than or equal to 3.5 as a general rule)Previous experience working in a team environment Garmin International is an equal opportunity employer.
