Introduction
The Loudoun County Department of Mental Health, Substance Abuse and Developmental Services (MHSADS) is seeking a skilled psychiatrist to join our energetic and multidisciplinary Clinical and Medical Team in a part-time capacity.
Job Description
The Psychiatrist is responsible for conducting diagnostic evaluations, prescribing medication, and monitoring medication treatment for individuals with mental health, substance use disorders and/or developmental disabilities. The Psychiatrist will work collaboratively with other members of the individual's treatment team and treat individuals in the Leesburg MHSADS Clinic and Eastern Loudoun MHSADS Clinic. The schedule will include day and occasional evening hours. Functions for this salaried position include:
Provide clinical leadership to treatment services within center-based services. Coordinating medical management standards and medication documentation in Electronic Health Records (EHR) system. Provide supervision of and consultation with staff and contract psychiatrists, licensed nurse practitioners and nurse managers. Perform psychiatric evaluations and medication management.
Job Requirements
Current, unrestricted Commonwealth of Virginia medical license
Current, unrestricted DEA registration
Board Eligibility or Board Certification in Psychiatry
Special Requirements
Completion of a Child Psychiatry Fellowship and Board Certification in Child Psychiatry is strongly preferred.
Prior experience with the performance of forensic assessment.
Fluency in Spanish is highly desirable.
Post Conditional Offer Contingencies
Employment is contingent upon successful completion of criminal background check, TB test, driving record
Valid driver's license in Virginia or regional state of residence.
