Job Description
The Department of Parks, Recreation and Community Services is currently seeking qualified applicants for Head Lifeguards at the Claude Moore Recreation Center in Sterling, VA and the Dulles South Multipurpose Center in South Riding, VA. The Recreation Centers feature a competition pool as well as a leisure pool with a water slide, children's play area and hot tub. The Head Lifeguard position assists with the recruiting, hiring, training and supervising of Lifeguard staff; assists with new employee orientation for aquatics staff; and maintains records of aquatics staff certifications.
Other duties include:
Performing daily custodial and maintenance duties to ensure a safe, clean aquatic facility Reconfigures pool for activities and events and assists with special events Observes and enforces pool rules and regulations Assists with clerical duties, including utilizing scheduling software Maintains required aquatic facility records Provide excellent customer service The work schedule is flexible and will require early morning, evenings and weekends.
HIRING RANGE: $16.64-$22.04
Salary Commensurate with Experience
Job Requirements
Requires any combination of education and experience equivalent to a high school diploma One (1) year aquatics experience including aquatics programming and pool facility management, working with the public, groups and organizations Must have Red Cross Lifeguard Certification, including First Aid and CPR, and Loudoun County Pool Operator's License prior to beginning work
Special Requirements
Preferred Qualifications:
1 year supervisory experience Lifeguarding Instructor, Water Safety Instructor, AED and Supplemental Oxygen certificationsMembership in Virginia Recreation and Park Society and the National Recreation and Parks Association are beneficial to the position
