Purpose of the position

The Director, Finance & Business Control, NAM is the Business Partner to the North America FLU leadership team as well as to the US Tail Lifts operations - providing financial data/modelling and business insights to enable better planning/decision making and ultimately drive improved business performance The position is responsible for business control and finance within the region - this includes the accurate preparation, development and monitoring of reliable financial information to support a) the development, implementation and measurement of strategy b) development and achievement of targets and c) maintenance of strong business control To be the co-pilot with the North American leadership in driving performance, assessing risk and ensuring compliance with Cargotec Accounting Standards and Group policies. Challenge the business and financial performance Leadership and development of the finance function in the region whilst supporting strong finance understanding through training of the non finance management team Providing leadership and support in global Hiab finance initiatives to deliver efficient and effective processes as well as new business insights and strong business control Support the region in driving and developing service business through cross functional work with the central and local Services businesses Prepare financial outlooks and business performance forecasts for the management teams Lead, manage and coach a team of finance professionals to ensure that accounting activities are completed accurately and on time. Challenge team members to continuously improve key skills; keep them challenged, while emphasizing a learning orientation and managing performance effectively
Main tasks and responsibilities:
Supporting Regional and Operations Management in strategy development and strategic programming - backed up by a clear and transparent financial roadmap Supporting Management in tactical decisions in all areas including a) sales b) production, operations and planning c) sourcing d) product management e) quality f) allocation of resources and g) working capital efficiency and optimisation Driving financial planning, forecasting and reporting processes at Region level and facilitating related decision-making Providing finance and business insights in strategic investments, competitor analysis, M&A analysis and due diligence, post acquisition integrations, contract / deal analysis, multidimensional profitability analysis and pricing. Preparation of business cases to support investment decisions in these areas Driving cost efficiency across the business - analysing monthly cost center performance, cost drivers, process inefficiencies, costs of poor quality - to develop strategies for cost efficiency Driving working capital efficiency to maximise cash conversion - analysing working capital metrics and E2E processes to drive improvement Building relationships with customers and with the Hiab sales organisation to maintain and develop excellence in credit management and collections Contributing to the Hiab finance network and leading various Hiab finance projects to drive efficiency and new business insights Being key contact for SBU controlling in supporting coordination of business / controlling requirements and overall compliance Maintaining and enhancing the business systems & tools to drive automation and high quality insights Building strong and collaborative relationship with the CBS and the Hiab finance team to deliver most effective and efficient processes Champion the development of finance talent within Hiab

What you'll need to succeed:

Education:
Minimum Bachelor in Business related degree and professionally qualification (or qualified through experience)
Working experience:
+10 years experience of business control of leading and developing financial operations
Competence and skills:
Deep financial as well as business understanding Analytical strength that provides the business with data driven decision making support and proactive recommendations Credibility and gravitas to take on a senior role in a global company Leadership skills to develop a successful organisation Engaging and motivating leadership style that generates results Solid change leadership Support growth and drive improvement to make operations efficient Communicate complex matters in an easy to understand way: Strong analytical skills and pedagogic ability, present material and analysis to all levels in the organization With a high drive and patience, provide information and at the same time engage
