Missile Data Management Systems Engineer III

You will be part of a team that works closely with the customer and other Serco teams to deliver quality systems. The team has been recognized by the Navy and the industry for their outstanding contributions to the contract and program. You will provide technical support for our customer as part of an integrated team both on-site in Arlington, Virginia and by telework. In this role, you will:
Serve as the government-information manager for the development of a major surface ship air defense missile system upgrade. Provide technical assistance to the government missile system upgrade manager by supporting the Configuration, Data, and Property Management Integrated Product Team responsible for configuration management, data management, and property management of this development and production project. Plan and coordinate delivery of data across a complex contract and multiple government organizations within a family of products, maintaining data in the government data-environment, ensuring data developed for the program is preserved. Coordinate across contracts to ensure appropriate data-rights language is included, data is delivered in accordance with the associated Contract Data Requirements List (CDRL), properly marked, indexed, and retained. Assist with monitoring of production deliveries across product lines, working with manufacturers to assess production status, ensure delivery schedules support the overall Integrated Master Schedule, assist the government in adjudicating conflicts, and raise issues or develop mitigations as required. Track data and material deliveries and transfers as Government Furnished Information/Material (GFI/GFM) to other development or production efforts. Coordinate Configuration Control Boards (CCB), ensure adherence to the program-office-approved Configuration Management (CM) process, and provide regular updates to the project team and management. Recommend updates to the CM process as required. Work proactively with minimal supervision, working closely with customer personnel, other contractor staff, and industry in providing solutions to complex problems and advice on technical issues. Work independently and as part of a team to meet program/project completion dates. Prepare and review input to major technical reports, status reports, official government correspondence, technical memoranda, contract reports, and presentations. Develop and present briefings to government and contractor personnel. Support meetings and systems engineering reviews. Coordinate across the program office enterprise to record, track progress, report on, and drive actions to completion. Comply with applicable quality and security procedures in the performance of duties. Follow standards for internal quality assurance of work products. Review work of peers and junior staff for quality, completeness, and technical correctness. Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will have:
A Bachelor's degree. Your degree should be in an area of STEM, i.e., science, technology, engineering, mathematics. (In some cases, educational requirements may be adjusted or waived for more than ten years of applicable work experience.) Five years of related work experience. (Work experience may be adjusted based on education, highly specialized knowledge, or uniquely applicable experience.) Experience with DoD acquisition programs or surface Navy weapon systems is strongly desired. Veterans are encouraged to apply.
Additional desired experience and skills:
Demonstrated command of systems engineering principles, DoD acquisition program management processes, configuration management, technical management, or business management. Effective customer and organizational-level communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills. This is more about your ability to take on a task and run with it with energy and enthusiasm than to have direct experience in all responsibilities of this position. An Active DoD Secret security clearance with eligibility for Top Secret clearance required.
