Serco, Inc. has an opening for a Business Systems Analyst III in Herndon, VA.
Duties: Review, analyze, and evaluate business systems and user needs by working closely with application developers and database developers. Translate functional requirements into detailed descriptions of user needs from a systems view, program functions and steps required to develop computer programs by working closely with developers. Conduct research and analysis using SQL to resolve system production issues. Prepare Application Release notes and technical design documentation to align with the project sprint releases. Work on SQL servers and other developer system to translate business requirements into system design tickets. Design and document new processes and obtain organizational feedback. Meet with subject matter experts within the organization to gather process information and/or requirements. Communicate process flows or requirements to staff for software development efforts or as part of procedural training. Interact with senior level staff to propose process modifications. Build requirements documentation / workflow as required for strategic solutions for the application development team.
Qualifications
Requirements: Employer will accept Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business, Engineering or related field and 3 years of work experience in job offered or 3 years of work experience in a related occupation. Experience must include: 1. Business analysis techniques such as user stories, use cases or logical modeling; 2. Requirement gathering; 3. Using SQL to generate reports and querying production issues; 4. JIRA or Confluence; 5. VISIO or any Wireframing tools; 6. Project Management skills using Agile or any other software methodology; 7. Oracle, MS SQL Server or MySQL databases; 8. Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) or project life cycle, which includes all phases from discovery and analysis through implementation.
