Acquisition Management Specialist

Serco will provide technical support to its customer, a defense acquisition program management office which is responsible for the development, acquisition, production, fielding, and lifetime support of critical Navy systems. This entry-to-associate-level position will help you hone your skills in program, contract, and financial management, and other related defense acquisition skills in a professional office environment.
Responsibilities
In this role you will:
Develop an understanding of the principles of defense acquisition program management and work in a team in applying your energy and enthusiasm to assigned programs throughout their life cycles. Research written defense acquisition instructions and processes and apply what you've learned to solve problems and complete tasking. Work in a collaborative, professional environment together with staff from the program office, other contractors, system developer/manufacturer, and the government/industry technical team. Work under the guidance and mentorship of an experienced supervisor. Support program office tasking related to acquiring Naval systems. Assist with the management of plans and schedules related to system acquisition. Support the government and contractor team in performing tasks such as arranging and participating in meetings or program reviews including preparing meeting agendas/minutes/actions, preparing presentations, developing spreadsheets, tracking action items, and assisting with collaboration with internal and external stakeholders. Assist in collecting, displaying, and interpreting program-related data/metrics. Gain additional responsibility and independent tasking as you grow in knowledge and experience. Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Education and Experience
To be successful in this role, you will have:
Bachelor's Degree or Associates Degree plus 2 years' experience. Well-developed team communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite programs, MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Must be a U.S. Citizen A security clearance or the ability to obtain a security clearance.
Additional desired experience and skills:
Previous government program office or a strong internship is desired but no previous experience with Navy systems is required. Degree requirements may be adjusted based on additional related experience, highly specialized knowledge, or uniquely applicable experience. Experience in collaboration tools such as SharePoint is desired. Enthusiasm and a willingness to learn and take on responsibility Secret Security Clearance at time of application is preferred but not required.
