Job Description:

WR is seeking a Submarine Alteration Installation Technician that will perform electronic systems and equipment installations primarily on-board US Navy Submarines and some surface ships as needed.

Position responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following:

Routing, banding and terminating (connector fabrication) cables, installing and modifying equipment racks and the removal of existing systems and equipment which may include but not limited to the following: Navigation Interior and Exterior Communications Radar Sonar Weapons Systems

Candidates must possess the following knowledge, skills, and experience:

High School Diploma or GED equivalent and completion of either AAS degree in electronics, technical military "A"School or two (2) year apprentice program. Four (4)+ years of practical experience working on DOD C4I installations with at least two (2) years of experience working on US Navy or US Coast Guard C4I Installations to include: repair, maintenance, installation and check-out. Familiar with standard concepts, practices, tools, requirements and procedures within the field of electronics repair, fabrication and installation. Previous Submarine installation experience to include installation of equipment, cable-ways, cables, connectors (Copper and Fiber Optic), and the assembly of mechanical parts as necessary per the tasking. Ability to work in an industrial shipboard/shipyard environment, climb ladders and wear all required safety equipment. Ability to read and interpret drawings and have the troubleshooting skills needed to identify and resolve problems. Able to lift (up to 75lb), carry and transport heavy equipment and materials required for the job. Able to receive direction from higher level technicians and complete tasking according to approved procedures and practices and also provide leadership, guidance and direction to more junior level technicians.
Other Requirements:

10 Hour OSHA Maritime, NAVSEA Cable-Way and Copper Connector Certifications required. Fiber Optic Installer, Termination/Test and QA Inspector a plus. Previous Military Service in a Technical rating and serving on US Submarines a plus.

Active Secret Security Clearance required.
