Job Summary

**This position is contingent upon contract award**

Amentum is seeking a self-starting, team player to fill the role Aerial Delivery Research Engineer III in support of CCDC Soldier Center - Aerial Delivery efforts.

You bring your comprehensive knowledge and engineering expertise to this role, finding innovative, cost-effective means to improve research, techniques, procedures, and/or products and technologies in support of Aerial Delivery efforts.

Essential responsibilities:
Perform a range of design development, analysis or review tasks independentlyDevelop, conduct and evaluate new approaches to meet technical requirements faster and more efficiently.Make recommendations and advises on research development, improvements, optimization, or support efforts.Perform risk assessments and innovative use of new research concepts or improved techniques and procedures.Establish and maintain a filing system or databases as needed for tracking project status.Develop, maintain and produce technical documentation and system/subsystem specificationsDirect interface and liaison with customers at all levels from quotation to final design and test activities, design reviews and technical working group meetings to comply with requirements and specifications.Verify and comply with engineering documentation standards and test procedures.Prepare, deliver and submit technical papers and perform engineering studies.Support development of technical proposal and provide comments on the technical content and level of effort of the proposed scope of work.Conduct site visits, experimental investigations and analyze engineering problems, propose solutions and alternatives, and provide recommendaions.May organize and supervise a group of employees for a given project, contract or job with overall responsibility for cost, schedule, technical and employee performance
Minimum Requirements

Bachelors degree
At least 12 years of experience in related field
Working knowledge of word-processing and integrated software applications
Requires up to 25% travel to domestic and international locations
Must be a U.S citizen. Position may require the ability to obtain and maintain a government security clearance
Preferred Qualifications

Preferred experience with Cameo Systems Modeling Tool, SysML, System Tool Kit, MATLAB, SimulinkGraduate engineering degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, and Electrical Engineering.
