Job Summary
Amentum is seeking an Industrial Lubrication Technician 2 to join team of multi-skilled technicians in a manufacturing facility in Peoria, IL.
Scheduled work days and hours may vary based on critical business demand. Must be willing to work overtime when required.
The Industrial Lubrication Technician 2 is responsible for providing an entry level of experienc in responding to work orders, troubleshooting, and providing preventive maintenance on the buildings and facilities equipment, fixtures and systems in an industrial environment.
• Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, performing inspections; checking sprockets, chains, bearings and related mechanisms in an industrial production setting; lubrication; cleaning; filter changes; and minor repairs to equipment. Other responsibilities include data gathering for predictive maintenance technologies including vibration analysis, oil analysis, ultrasound analysis and infrared thermography analysis.
Responsibilities:
• Lubricates moving parts with specified lubricants.
• Performs repairs, modifications, and preventative maintenance on buildings and facilities equipment, fixtures, and systems.
• Identify and troubleshoot conditions of wrong or degraded lubricants.
• Identify and troubleshoot contaminated lubricant conditions.
• Identify and troubleshoot abnormal machine wear conditions.
• Inspect and receive new oil deliveries.
• Devise and implement corrective actions.
• Troubleshoots and repairs basic electrical issues.
• Operates a PC with Microsoft Office Suite programs.
• Performs preventive maintenance as scheduled in the Lube-It scheduling program.
• Performs predictive maintenance as scheduled in CMMS
• Responds and provides service and feedback to the customer on all work orders while assuring compliance to codes, regulations and industry standards.
• Recommends measures to improve maintenance methods and equipment performance.
• Safely performs functions of the position including following proper safety guidelines such as job hazard analysis and lockout/tagout procedures and wearing PPE as required.
• Operates a variety of equipment such as hand tools, laptop computers and diagnostic hardware to perform work.
• Maintains a strict schedule in order to be successful in the assignment, yet demonstrates flexibility in the day-to-day activities and scheduling for the benefit of the customer.
Minimum Requirements
1. High school diploma or demonstrated equivalent.
2. Two years of experience performing automotive, commercial or industrial facility, or production equipment maintenance, or demonstrated equivalent combination of education and experience.
3. Valid driver's license.
4. Ability to work from an aerial lift or scissor lift at heights up to 30 feet or higher.
5. Understanding of General Maintenance Practices for a food grade lubrication program.
6. Ability to obtain MLT certification within 30 days.
Preferred Qualifications
1. Associate's degree or trade school certification in Automotive, Industrial Electrical, Industrial Mechanical, Industrial Technology, HVAC or a related field or working toward degree.
2. Experience in General Maintenance Practices for a food grade lubrication program.
3. Experience performing lubrication tasks in an automotive or industrial setting.
4. Experience troubleshooting and repairing facility related equipment and industrial overhead doors.
Other Attributes:
• Must be willing to work overtime when required. May be required to work holidays and weekends.
