Job Description:
Job title: Senior LAN/WAN Engineer
Clearance: Top Secret/SSBI
Our client is seeking an experienced Senior LAN/WAN Engineer to serve as part of a multidisciplinary team providing a wide-range of IT support services for classified/unclassified mission-critical military command networks. The successful candidate shall have demonstrated relevant experience serving as the lead system administrator for a primary network and support the maintenance of other key networks. This position plays a key role maintaining communications capabilities between elements in the United States and at global locations. The OPTEMPO of the customer may require network support outside of normal business hours.
Responsibilities:
• Provide configuration support for network equipment including routers and switches, web proxies, firewalls, IDS, and Intrusion Prevention Systems (IPS); Access Control Server (Client), and Network Access Control (NAC) servers
• Provide technical support for maintaining encrypted Virtual Private Network (VPN) solutions for long haul secure transport and user access-controlled access to the unclassified network
• Provide Network Operating System installation and configuration, health monitoring, backups and restoration, and non-compliance reporting in accordance with DoD mandates
• Maintain port security and log port security devices on the designated logging server
• Maintain network installation and configuration, internetwork operating system (IOS) upgrades, health monitoring, backups and restoration, and non-compliance reporting
• Perform required maintenance to support critical coalition-related networks including patching at floor ports and communication rooms, activation of ports on the switch, and applying Virtual Local Area Networks (VLAN) to the ports
• Install, and maintain network Local Area Network (LAN server rooms and communications closets cables and install prefabricated cables to existing ports at workstations
Requirements:
• Over three (3) years of experience as a system administrator for mission-critical command networks
• Comprehensive knowledge of network security policies and security system configurations requirements including DISA STIG, bulletins, advisories, local directives, and Information Assurance policies
• Specific experience with Cisco's Internetwork Operating System and Jabber Unified Communications
Education/Certification/Training:
• Bachelor's degree in an Information Technology related field of study
• IAT-II (CCNA Security, CSA+, GIC SP, G SEC, Security+ CE, or SSCP)
• ITIL V4 Foundation certification
