Odyssey Systems has an exciting opportunity for a Weapon Open Systems Architecture Engineering Managertoindependently develop and execute strategies to incorporate weapon open systems architecture with multiple DoD laboratories and industry partners for specific kinetic and directed energy future weapon acquisition initiatives.

Job Responsibilities:

Duties include but are not limited to:

Independently initiate, execute, and coordinate engagements with other Government agency subject matter experts, DoD laboratories, and industry partners under the overall program management oversight and direction of Government personnel
Independently develops and executes strategies to incorporate weapon open systems architecture with multiple industry partners for specific kinetic and directed energy future weapon acquisition initiatives
Collaborates between open systems architecture design efforts and core weapon project team efforts to conduct trade space analyses on specific initiatives
Uses out of the box critical thinking to assess the acquisition and rapid prototyping considerations for future kinetic and directed energy weapons leveraging state of art technologies where there is no legacy weapon equivalent and where a legacy weapon could be modified to provide the desired capability
May develop products based on Government Program Manager direction to support unique higher headquarters capability needs where no prior template exists and little to no higher headquarters guidance is available
Under the Government Program Manager direction, considers trade space analyses from the perspective of the Air Force Program Executive Officer for Weapons equities

Qualifications:

BS and MS Engineering (ABET-accredited) and 15+ years relevant experience; or Ph.D. and 5+ years of relevant experience


Top Secret clearance


Must be able to travel as needed (
Must be able to work varied/flexible hours as needed
Effective communication and presentation skills both orally and in writing
Ability to negotiate and deal with customers and to advise management using a high degree of tact and diplomacy
US Citizen
Experience with the following preferred:

Weapon open systems architecture


Experience in engineering or program management of DoD acquisition programs


Comprehensive understanding of the organizational mission and interfaces with intelligence, Major Commands, Air Staff, DoD laboratories, and support agencies
