Job Title: Sr. Acquisition Program Scientist (S SR)

Job Location: Fort Walton Beach, FL (Eglin AFB)

Division:Armament Systems Development Division (AFLCMC/EBZ)

Odyssey Systems has an exciting opportunity for a Sr.Modeling and Simulation (M&S) Analystto support concept analyses for future AF weapon systems.

Job Responsibilities:

Duties include but are not limited to:

Provides resources with knowledge and experience in supporting and conducting simulation studies to include:

System and component performance, engineering trade-offs, and system effectiveness


Reviewing modeling work for compliance with regulations and best practices


Developing and maintaining modeling best practices


Analyzing complex problems


Developing relevant models and constraints to run complex dynamic structural, thermal, or other analyses


Reviewing and supporting work to develop appropriate models to solve complex weapon system issues




Works across a multi-disciplined team and assist with the collection of pertinent data, design, and execution of the M&S experiment, and report the results
Works with an M&S team that conducts experiments at multiple levels of fidelity using various tools including first principles models, engineering/engagement tools, and mission level simulations

Qualifications:

MS and 15+ years relevant experience; or Ph.D. and 5+ years of relevant experience


Top Secret clearance


Hands-on experience in at least two and working knowledge in all of the following areas:

Target vulnerability and weapon lethality analysis
Weapon system guidance, navigation, and control (GNC) including trajectory optimization and aerodynamic modeling
Weapon system ingress and survivability (numerical or signal processing models)
Weapon system penetration of hard targets, blast wave propagation or warhead case break up (hydrocode analysis)


Experience in engineering or program management of DoD acquisition programs


Experience in weapons system modeling and simulation preferred


Hands-on experience with at least two modeling and simulation systems such as ESAMS, AJEM, AFSIM, BRAWLER, SUPPRESSOR, and GIANT


Comprehensive understanding of the organizational mission and interfaces with intelligence, Major Commands, Air Staff, DoD laboratories, and support agencies

Must be willing/able to travel as needed (approx.
Must be able to work varied/flexible hours as needed
Effective communication and presentation skills both orally and in writing
Ability to negotiate and deal with customers and to advise management using a high degree of tact and diplomacy
