Responsibilities
In support of SURFMEPP, the waterfront project engineer will be involved in a variety duties within the full spectrum of system or program. Specific duties may include:

Performs technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk assessment, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems. Performs analyses at all levels of total system product to include: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance, modernization and disposal. Ensures the logical and systematic incorporation of maintenance requirements into total availability solutions within technical, schedule, and cost constraints. Researches, designs, develops, and tests methods to improve the maintenance and modernization process for surface ships. Analyzes complex ship systems product or equipment specifications and performance requirements to determine designs that can be produced or maintained by existing processes or infrastructure. Evaluates new advanced technologies for application in meeting or extending the expected service life of ships or ship systems. Uses the DoD Planning, Programming, Budgeting and Execution (PPBE) process to provide well-researched and supportable budget recommendations, and to track and manage budget items. Plans, coordinates, directs, and evaluates testing of complex ship systems. Performs risk assessment of advanced ship systems and generates risk mitigation plans and strategies. Responsible for the successful technical, schedule and cost performance of a major program or multiple programs through subordinate Program/Project Managers/Task Manager in accordance with contract requirements and company policies, procedures and guidelines. Provides executive strategic communications support for both internal and external customers.

Qualifications

Requires a minimum of five years of related professional experience (experience in program support of a DoD/Navy program desired), and a minimum of a High School diploma. Demonstrated ability to follow direction and work within a team. Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
One must have good written communication, interpersonal, problem-solving, analytical, mathematical, and organizational skills. Ability to follow directions is a must. Applicants must be able to work well alone and as part of a team. A Security Clearance or the ability to obtain one will be required. U.S. Citizenship required.
