Responsibilities
Perform assessments, technical assistance, training and maintenance of Navy Underway Replenishment (UNREP) systems onboard USNS and Navy Vessels.

Requires a High School Diploma or above and 15 years of related experience. The Sr. Field Engineer performs non-routine assignments of substantial variety and complexity, using operational precedents that are not fully applicable, such assignments that are typically parts of broader assignments, are screened to eliminate unusual design problems. Requires shipboard experience including assessing, training, directing and managing a wide variety of ship deck departments. Wide diverse background across a large spectrum of deck gear and supporting systems. Ensures operational readiness through training, maintenance and inspections. Responsible for well deck and ship board crane inspections. May develop fleet wide inspection criteria and methodology for small craft interactions with Navy ships to ensure safe, consistent amphibious operational capability. Provide in-briefs and out-briefs to Commanding Officers on the condition of their deck departments.
This position performs one or a combination of such typical duties as:
Developing or reviewing designs by extracting and analyzing a variety of engineering data, applying conventional engineering practices to develop, prepare, or recommend schematics, designs, specifications, electrical drawings and parts lists. (Examples of designs include: detailed circuit diagrams; hardware fittings or test equipment involving a variety of mechanisms; conventional piping systems; and building site layouts). Conducting tests or experiments requiring selection and adaptation or modification of a wide variety of critical test equipment and test procedures, preparing and operating equipment, recording data, measuring and recording problems of significant complexity that sometimes require resolution at a higher level, and analyzes data and prepares test reports. Applying methods outlined by others to limited segments of research and development projects, constructing experimental or prototype models to meet engineering requirements; conducts tests or experiments and redesigns as necessary and recording and evaluating data and reports findings. Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, able to obtain and retain a security clearance.

Qualifications
Must be a graduate of high school with fifteen years experience with Navy/MSC UNREP systems and HM&E systems. Self starter, articulate with ability to train others.

One must have good written communication, interpersonal, problem-solving, analytical, mathematical, and organizational skills. Ability to assess and train are a must. Applicants must be able to work well alone and as part of a team. Travel OCONUS is required for this position so must possess or have ability to get a passport. A Security Clearance or the ability to obtain one will be required. U.S. Citizenship required.
