Job Description
• The candidate will be part of a global team working in a follow-the-sun model supporting global customers. US-based Engineers are also responsible 24x7 for some customers with US Sovereign support requirements.
• Candidate will be responsible for provisioning, monitoring, managing and troubleshooting customer environments in Microsoft Azure, AWS, Google Cloud and/or Oracle Public Cloud. This will include both IaaS and PaaS offerings and may include SaaS.
• Champion team transformation to using DevOps methods and CI/CD tools to support customers where possible.
• Actively work to supplement and enhance internal automation for provisioning and support tasks. This may include everything from scripts to playbooks and tests, to CI/CD pipelines.
• Work with our internal product development organization to provide customer and internal feedback on direction and weaknesses in both customer-facing and internal products.
• Ensure availability of services in accordance with customer defined SLAs.
• Provide RCA related to critical incidents and problems.
• Plan and implement changes to the customer environment in accordance with Change Management process.
• Ensure optimum utilization of Cloud services subscribed by the customer
• Coordinate with Cloud Service Provider and other 3rd party vendors when escalation is required.
• Work to create and implement Service Improvement Plans for transforming customer environments.
Qualifications
• Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills for interfacing with Customers and internal stakeholders.
• Demonstrated experience supporting at least one of the predominant public clouds (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
• Experience working in an Agile- / Lean-inspired workplace, and comfort becoming an internal champion of those practices
• Demonstrated experience managing CI/CD tools (Jenkins, Travis CI, Gitlab CI, etc).
• Experience working with Containerized applications (Docker, LXC, Kubernetes, etc)
• Experience using common system management languages such as Bash, Python, and PowerShell
• Experience using modern version control software such as git.
• Competence working in Windows and Linux environments.
• Knowledge of Azure concepts like Resource Groups, Virtual Machines, Containers, Virtual Networks, Azure AD, Availability Sets, Backup Vaults, Load Balancers, NSG, Azure Security Center, Azure PowerShell, Express Route, etc.
Preferred Skills:
• Working knowledge of databases and SQL (Structured Query Language).
• Experience with Office 365 and Microsoft Exchange server administration.
• Troubleshooting inbound and outbound queues, mail routing issues, server errors, mail delivery latency issues, handle Outlook, OWA, ActiveSync related issues.
• Working knowledge of Active Directory, DNS, DHCP and related Windows server concepts.
• Certifications preferred, not required: MCSE, MCSA, MCITP, AWS, Azure, Google, etc.
• Potentially responsible for various applications which may include technologies such as IIS/.net, Apache, Tomcat, Jboss, Websphere, SharePoint, etc.
• Experience working in an Agile- / Lean-inspired workplace, and comfort becoming an internal champion of those practices
• Demonstrated experience managing CI/CD tools (Jenkins, Travis CI, Gitlab CI, etc).
