Overview
Alban CAT, the Caterpillar dealer for the mid-Atlantic Region is accepting applications for a Field Technician III SSG, for our Manassas branch.
Responsibilities
The Field Service Technician III, Systems Solutions Group is responsible for solving complex problems associated with power and automated controls. Leads, directs and performs all levels of implementation on engine gensets, Automatic Transfer Switch (ATS), Uninterruptable Power Supply (UPS) and paralleling switchgears. Performs complex troubleshooting, specialized tests, inspections and appraisals of electrical systems at customer job sites. Interprets and makes recommendations based on test values. Performs advanced level maintenance and testing on transformers, parallel switchgears, UPS and protective relay programs. Performs modifications to Human Interface Module (HMI), Programmable Logic Control (PLC) and protective relay programs. Installs and commissions paralleling, UPS and protective relay programs. Prepares detailed service reports, parts order requisitions and other related paperwork. Safely drives a service vehicle and performs various other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Must have a thorough understanding of power generation products with experience performing complex repairs to power generation equipment including diesel, natural gas or stream driven turbines, paralleling switchgear, ATS and UPS. Must have experience installing and commissioning parallel switchgears, UPS and protective relay programs. Must be well organized and have the ability to prioritize workload while providing excellent customer service. Must have a valid driver's license and good driving record.
