Job Description:

The Email Security Engineer is responsible to provide troubleshooting, maintenance, and configuration for Secure Mail Gateways at Newport News Shipbuilding. The engineer will collaborate with internal teams to provide a secure and resilient email platform and reduce risk presented by fraudulent or malicious email.

Essential Responsibilities:
• Administration of Secure Mail Gateways
• Identification and resolution of incidents impacting email
• Maintaining ACL, configuration, and policies
• Support and assist the SOC and CIRT with security incidents and to design new policies to identify and mitigate risk
• Participate in providing documentation to ensure a well-managed and mature email security infrastructure
•Provide Subject Matter Expertise on Secure Email Gateways
• Perform other duties and/or special projects as assigned

Designs, tests, and implements state-of-the-art secure operating systems, networks, and database products. Conducts risk assessment and provides recommendations for application design. Involved in a wide range of security issues including architectures, firewalls, electronic data traffic, and network access. Uses encryption technology, penetration and vulnerability analysis of various security technologies, and information technology security research. May prepare security reports to regulatory agencies.
