Summary
The United States Capitol Police (USCP) is a CALEA nationally-accredited, federal law enforcement agency. The USCP safeguards the Congress, Members of Congress, employees, visitors, and Congressional buildings and grounds from crime, disruption, and terrorism. We protect and secure Congress so it can fulfill its constitutional and legislative responsibilities in a safe, secure and open environment.

Responsibilities:

This position is located in the Intelligence and Interagency Coordination Division (IICD), Protective Services Bureau (PSB), United States Capitol Police (USCP). The IICD provides intelligence information and analysis of current intelligence on terrorist activities worldwide, as well as domestic and international threats, on a time sensitive basis. The incumbent of this position serves as manager of operations involving the development of intelligence plans, policies, and methodologies for the Department's intelligence programs.

DUTIES

Oversees and directs the implementation of the United States Capitol Police Intelligence Program. Uses effective intelligence and security strategies that can be utilized in both a classified and unclassified manner.
Develops intelligence plans, policies, and methodologies for the Department's intelligence programs. Responds to requests for information to support policy making activities for the Department.
Serves as the principal advisor and senior expert on all intelligence related activities for the Department. Participates in top management discussions and decisions, and serves as the senior intelligence adviser to the Protective Services Bureau Commander, the Executive Team, and the Department.
Coordinates and integrates with officials inside and outside the Department to ensure that actionable intelligence information is available at all levels of the USCP. Establishes and fosters effective working relationships and information networks with all levels of the national intelligence community.
Serves as the Senior Intelligence Officer responsible for overseeing intelligence analysis activities concerning threats and the potential impact upon the U.S. Capitol complex, visitors, VIPs and Members.
Supervises a team of civilian and sworn personnel. Outlines policy and overall program requirements and objectives, and coordinates and monitors the execution of assigned functions.

Successful completion of a Background Investigation is required.
Must complete a one year supervisory probationary period.
Must have Direct Deposit.
Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Top Secret Clearance.
Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a Sensitive Compartment Information Clearance.

Qualifications:

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below.

1. You must have specialized experience that is in or directly related to the line of work of the position to be filled and which has equipped you with the particular technical expertise to successfully perform the duties of the position. Specialized experience for the CP-13/GS-15 grade level is defined as experience equivalent to the next lower grade level gathering intelligence data from various sources, analyzing raw data and identifying credible information, providing advice and guidance to senior officials on intelligence matters, preparing detailed and accurate intelligence reports, leading a team of intelligence specialists in accomplishing the mission of the organization, or similar experience.
