We are currently seeking a VP, Research and Development to join the LifeNet Health team in our Virginia Beach, VA location.

The VP, Research and Development is responsible for establishing the organization's Tissue Engineering research strategy and research activities in support of the Company's global portfolio strategy, provide leadership for technology development and growth of LifeNet Health. The Vice President of Research and Development will drive research and development for our Tissue Division while maintaining a focus in delivering high quality scientific and technology pipeline developments to ensure future IP, patent filing and value enhancement. General responsibilities include expanding our Tissue Division's research activities and services to better position the company for growth; provide management and strategic scientific leadership and developing innovative vision that drives the development of new processes, technologies or products. Provide leadership in development and implementation of strategies in support of LifeNet Health's business goals and overall mission.

You would be expected to perform all tasks assigned to you, including but not limited to:
Direct research activities, ensure proper measurement and effectiveness of all internal and external technologies and intellectual property while maintaining compliance with local, state and national requirementsThrough scientific leadership and day to day management, establish and align R&D goals with corporate outlined goals and objectives. Actively participate in Corporate Strategic Planning with other managers and executives and ensure the execution of the technical aspects of the plan on the corporate and divisional level.Establish organization strategic R&D roadmap and provide exemplary scientific input into research and development programs with a goal to support the overall corporate strategy. Develop, communicate and implement effective processes that drive the growth and development of new technologies.Participate in staffing, staff planning, conducting performance evaluations on direct reports, budgeting, ensure compliance with training requirements, developing direct reports and controlling division expenditures.Actively engage in understanding customer needs and market trends/changes. Assist with market and clinical reviews on existing products designed to improve competitive performance and margin. Collaborate with all organizational stakeholders to share information related to customer needs and changes in market conditions.Ensure the responsible functions and reporting groups conduct technology and intellectual property development in accordance with all applicable local, state and federal regulations, as well as standards set forth by membership and certification in various professional organizations. Advise and make recommendations to Chief Technology Officer and CEO on technology, science, and intellectual property development activities.
Minimum Qualifications:
PhD in Science, Biomedical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Bioengineering or related field10 years industry or academic-based management experience15 years demonstrated technical experience in medical device, regenerative medicine and bioengineering
